Notes from visit – 12/27/11
*served in Nonic glass

A: Pours a super clear and burnished looking yellowish gold color. Frothy finger of white stuff and guber lacing.

S: Smells bready and grainy with an earthy spice hop nose.

T: Taste is a standard German Kolsch with bready and grainy European malts and spicy German hops. Plays the part. Light and drinkable. Nothing too exciting here.

M: Crisp light and clean mouthfeel. Super dry finish.

D: Light and crisp Kolsch style ale with that signature graininess and some earthy spice flavors.
Not worth revisiting.

On-tap at Hollister Brewing

Fairly typical pour: pale straw color with a white head that doesn't last all that long. Strong fruit ester and corn aromas to this beer. There is a light floral and grassy hop note to it, maybe a touch of straw. Not much actual malt aroma. Mild to moderate sweetness, mostly in the form of adjunct with a bit of malt. The hops are minimal, but there. Fairly bland.

On tap at Hollister 2/5/10

Pours light yellow, clear, tall white head that doesnt last or lace the glass. While the head is still there it looks good.

Aroma is of corn and honey. Typical blonde ale aroma.

Flavor is corn, sweet, with hints of European hops and a little honey. Again, a decent/good example of a traditionally bad style.

Body is thin and "drinkable" the way a blonde ale should be. If I wasn't so burned out on beer right now I'd drink something like this during the Super Bowl today (which I have no interest in this year).
