A collaboration between Amager and Mikkeller. Described as a Imperial Oatmeal Stout with Coffee. Cheers to motherbrother for this one!

From a 50cl bottle into a snifter

APPEARANCE: A black pour yields a three finger, medium looking, fluffy, creamy, dark tan head with great retention. Black body with medium levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a tick foam cap and coats the top of the glass. A slight wisp remains leaving lots of splotchy lacing down the glass. Good looking stuff.

SMELL: Roasted grain, burnt and charred malts, oats for sure and dark chocolate on the nose. Light notes of coffee perhaps, but that takes a back seat. Bold for sure.

TASTE: Coffee comes out more in the flavor. Roasted coffee beans and roasted grain with some sweet cream and vanilla notes up front. Big finish with more roasted flavors, burnt, bitter espresso beans, bitter chocolate and some sweet vanilla cream lingers nicely on the palate. Flavorful.

PALATE: Medium-fuller body and creamy smooth on the palate. Goes down nice and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Some bitterness and a touch of heat linger. Good feel.

OVERALL: This was solid. An enjoyable effort between Amager and Mikkeller, but nothing special that makes it an obvious collaboration like Xiquic was. Good stuff all around and something I would drink again for sure. Cheers motherbrother!

Opaque black in color with minimal chocolate colored head that settled into wisps and a thin collar. Aroma is deeply roasted malt, vanilla and earthy wood. Taste is dark chocolate, deep malt, vanilla, with coffee running throughout all of that. Silty mouthfeel, low carbonation and rich body.

The beer bottle has a new or different label on it. Never had Hr. Frederiksens before so I'm not sure if I can really detect it really throughout the beer. The beer geek brunch definitely comes through very heavily though.

Dark black beer with a decent head that disappeared very quickly. Some lace was still left on the glass though.

Smelled very strong of dark chocolate and malt. Expected more of a coffee smell, but it kinda lacked on the coffee side.

Tasted very strong of coffee. Chocolate and dark roasted malt come through also. cant believe how smooth it is at 10.7%abv!

Perfect feel through out the whole beer. Kinda thin, but it thickens up as it warms up.

Overall I like the regular beer geek brunch by itself better, but this beer is still almost just as good!

Poured into stout glass. Dark brown, light on edges when drinking. Real thick head that doesn't last. Strong carbonation at beginning, doesn't last long either. Plenty of sediment at bottom of glass. Coffee is very forward on nose, follows through on the taste, but it's a sweeter coffee than I'm used to in a stout. I get a slight alcohol heat on back of tongue, lingering aftertaste is mild bitterness. Very well balanced, would gladly buy this again.
