Dark amber appearance with slight tan head. Aroma is a slightly sour fruit. Taste is also a slightly sour fruity that is very smooth. This is a good Belgian ale for the islands.

Pours a dark amber color with less than a finger head. Not much lacing and the head disappears quickly.
Smell is very nice. Malt and plum aroma with a sweet cherry apple smell also. Some cinnamon raisin is in there too.
Solid taste also! More plum and apple with some grape flavor in there also. Not hoppy at all and has a very nice sweet malt flavor. A little vanilla and cinnamon is also detectable.
Feel is typical of a Belgian Strong. Not overly bitter and not much carbonation to speak of.
Overall a really nice offering. I don't drink many Belgians / Belgian Strongs but this was quite enjoyable.

Poured into a snifter from the source. Dark rust colored with a moderate haze and a generous off white head. Aromas of plum, raisin, vanilla, and sweet malt. Taste followed closely but with a nice spicy and estery Belgian flair. Plenty of great flavors as listed above. Gentle warming on the finish. A great Bellgian Strong.

Very average Belgian donker. Too smoky for a Belgian style beer imho. Had it on tap at Aces & Ales in Las Vegas. 8.8% ABV

Not a bad version of a Belgian from this fine brewery. Would like to see them sour it up a bit, but this was fairly decent. Poured dark with minimal foam, nice aroma and feel.

On tap at Maui Brewing Company in Kihei, HI.
Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, dark fruit, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, spice, yeast, dark fruit, and grape juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
Serving type: on tap.
