Golden blond foamy white head with decent retention and no lacing. Sweet citrus aroma. Bold but smooth wheat with earthy hops balancing things out. Clean, sweet finish. Fairly crisp but rather heavy bodied.

Easy drinking with a bold flavor but it’s a very filling beer that I really couldn’t finish many of. Very heavy for a lager.

Bikini Blonde Lager
12 oz. can
Served in an 8 oz hotel glass

I picked up a 6 pack of this beer on Monday (03/17/14) after a late morning stop at the State of Hawaii, Department of Health office. I was anticipating a return to Waikiki Beach and was in search of a local 6 pack to clandestinely drink on the beach. I decided to get a 6 pack of Bikini Blonde Lager cans...

Pours a straw yellow with mini bubbles that race to the top of the glass. A circular bleach white head forms on top.

Aroma is very clean with whiffs of freshly cut grass and herbs.

The first sip is super crisp, clean and drinkable. I am immediately interested in the carbonation level that feels greater than normal. Flavors of toasted malt (think cereal) and a light fruit twang that is reminiscent of pear or a freshly cut Granny Smith apple slice. There is a mini hop snap on the finish that brings everything together.

A nicely crafted beer, true to the style with an above average drinkability level. A beer that truly 'hit the spot'.

12oz can into SA Perfect pint.

A: Pours a deep golden color with yellow highlights beneath a thick bright white head that faded into a fuzzy white film. Soapy lace was left down the glass.
S: Scents of creamy oats and roasted grains with mild spicy herbal hops.
T: Follows the nose. Earthy, spicy, hops, and bready yeast stand out. Bready overall. The finish is full of cereal grains and a light sweetness. There’s a hint of honey in the aftertaste.
M: Extremely creamy and soft mouthfeel, very fluffy and velvet carbonation, full mouthfeel.
O: Solid, clean, and bready. Very fluffy and soft mouthfeel. Goes down easy and smooth.

This is a solid helles beer.

Appearance: Nice straw color, hazy, effervescent, with some hanging proteins.

Smell: Straw with faint scent of german hops.

Taste: Clean with a light bite at the finish and gentle hops

Mouthfeel: Velvety and lingering!

Would be a solid session beer on a hot day.
