Pours a cloudy dark orange. Very small head with no retention at all. Some spotty lacing though which is surprising.

Smells of banana and bread. Some floral/citrus coming through also.

Taste is way off on this. Extremely tart and sour. This is unlike any other Oktoberfest I've had, and I'm not really sure about it. I was looking forward to this as I'm in an 'fest' mood, but this was dissappointing. A little metallic twang in there as well. I had to pour this one out, I'm sorry to say.

A little crisp with medium to high carbonation. Watery and thin. This is just an unpleasant experience all around. I love supporting local craft breweries, but this is just wrong. I will not get this again.

Avoid.

A half liter bottle purchased at the brewery.

A: The marzenbier is a dark lager, deep brown cut with orange/yellow highlights. A dead ringer for a bockbier. The ale produced a finger of head that was quick to dissapate to a small white band.

S: The nose is malty with a soapy finish. This is not the first (nor will it be the last) Weeping Radish beer that is good on tap (or in growlers) but less than mediocre from a bottle.

T: Damn, why can't they get the bottling line right? The lagerbier is slightly metallic without the malty oomph. Very disappointing, because on-tap it is quite nice.

M/D: WTF? How can a growler (1 L bottle) be great but the .5L bottle be shit? The flavor is off-the-mark. I recommend the beer on-tap but not from a bottle.

Bottled by Farmbrew LLC (Jarvisburg, NC). Provided by GCBrewingCo, thanks much!. Pours a thin layer of yellowed head over a very hazy oranged amber liquid. Smells sweet toasty malt during the pour. To the nose, wet caramel, light toasted malts, some chalky driness, mild noble hops, and very low phenol.

Tastes off. Some soured character that isn't right for the style. Drying caramel chalky malt with soured and mildly phenolic tang. Tang mixes with carbonation acrid in an unpleasant way. Tang leaves a bit of a cherry fruity flavor, like a fruit roll-up.

Md-light body and strong carbonation sting. Not very drinkable, which is a bummer as I've been thinking about this one sitting in my fridge for a couple days now.

another bottle that was graciously shared at my in laws, we had high hopes for this one that were quickly dashed away. the dark pour was optimistic at first, but soon faded and left just a clean, clear orange colored glass with no lacing or head to speak of.

aroma is a mess. caramel and light ops seems to go nowhere. a wet cardboard, musky sort of smell starts to come in to play and is just not pleasant at all. this carries over to the flavor as it just seems like it is all over the place. wet hay, cardboard, musky malts, just not at all what i would want in a fest beer.

overall i will have to pass, this one just was not going to work for me and truth be told i really would just as soon forget it.

Muted golden in color. Low carbonation. No real aroma-sort of just "there". Malty and buttery flavor. Low bitterness. Somewhat nutty. Had this 2 days prior on tap and it still had the same buttery flavor. Soft and smooth mouthfeel but I cant help but feel that comes off all the buttery flavor. Rather average overall-there is much better out there for sure.
