Pours a black body with two-finger white head and lace flows down the glass. A faint wheat smell with hints of sweet malts. This is a real smooth beer with a slightly sweet taste. The yeast/wheat gives the body some fluff and the sweet malts are subdued (mostly caramel with hint of chocolate). A very minor citric hop flavor and roasted malt presence give it a slightly dry backbite. Not a bad sipper but not really sessionable. I don't even think I'd classify this as a dunkleweizen due to the lack of malts. I don't know what I'd classify it as; it tastes like a pale wheat ale with a couple of caramelized malt notes in there for the hell of it.
