Appearance: Mostly hazy yellow-orange body. Thin cap, ok lacing.

Aroma: red wine and light fruity brett funk.

Flavor: Red wine, light acidity, fairly tannic oak barrel character. Fruity funk manages to peak through. Tastes pretty damn close to Allagash Interlude. The current 3.57 rating of this beer is crazy. You Oregon nerds are spoiled.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light bodied, red wine sweetness adds a bit of residual sugar. Slight tannin linger.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Clear golden orange. Medium white head with a medium collar.

Smell - Lots of wine. Acidic. Oak. I wouldn't peg it as pinot noir. Slightly musty. Sweet caramel.

Taste - Light tartness up front. Woody immediately. Very winey. Sweet caramel and a little heavy.

Mouthfeel - Medium body, maybe medium heavy. Medium low carbonation.

Overall - I like the wine barrel. Dominates a lot of the beer, but it's nice.

the pinot noir barrels make this a really cool beer, a bretted saison that shows nice features of both yeasts. hazy and yeasty pour, golden brass in color, with over an inch of white airy head, but it settles way too fast. the nose is funky and tannic and complex, this beers best feature i reckon. the grapes are pungent, but the barrel character aside from the grape influence is minimal. i dont get much oak in the nose, but the brett is strong, and is a cool dry contrast to the lively fruity grape profile. the flavor isnt as nuanced as the smell, and i lose a bit of the grape flavor, pick up more of just the feel, the acid and the finish. oak is more evident in flavor, sweeter new oak perhaps, not the vanilla and char tandem we are used to. saison yeast and brett both dry this beer right up, and while the flavor is great, its a bit conventional. i expected weirder, but i still like this a lot. wishing for more bubbles too, not that the beer gets heavy, but its not lively enough for the brett, at least for me. good beer for sure, nice execution, but for 20 bucks you can find a lot better wild ale out there.

On draught at Baileys, Funk d'Farmhouse is clear gold with a small white head that light white foamy lace.

Smell is faintly funky, sweet malt and a little baby diaper. Green apples.

Taste is light sweet and tart, fairly grainy though. Sour fruits, a little jolly ranchers. Vinous and tannic, the pinot barrel shines through.

Mouthfeel is light, dry, slippery.

Drinkability is okay, it's light, nice funk, but the graininess is disappointing.
