22 oz bottle, 2015 version. Pours hazy golden orange with a medium fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is some caramel malts and lots of tropical fruits and piney resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet caramel / crystal malts with some tropical fruit and piney peppery hops with a big harsh bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a very nice DIPA with a bit of a harsh finish.

22oz bottle $7.99. I have probably bought three of these now so I think it is pretty solid. Appearance is hazy orange, lots of lace, head is soapy and filmy. Aroma is a touch of pine and citrus, alcohol is hidden. Flavor is bitter, citrus, pretty nice IPA and the alcohol is hidden here too. MIght even be considered a west coast, blindfolded I would guess California. This reminds me a bit of Bear Republic Racer 5.

nicely done, this big ipa was enjoyed on tap at backcountry pizza in boulder. it looks the part, darker than honey color, with a tall white head, i mean, it looks just right in the glass. i like the nose a lot, and i like the taste too, but this isnt very unique as they go. it has a definite C hop profile, pine and oils, but not as dank and textured as some of the more famous west coast style versions, but its in that family. very very fresh though, which helps any beer in this type, and the clean finish is surprising. neither boozy or bitter to the level anticipated for the style. maybe some centennial in this, i get that fresh milled lumber thing, especially in the aroma. light citrus zest, and sticky resinous textures that seem almost watered down, like minimized from what the style usually delivers, but still present. it makes it a bit more drinkable than other big india pales, although i expected it to be a little more unique in its own right. very good by most standards, average for oakshire, who always delivers something delicious and distinct in my experience.

2015 vintage. Bomber served cold into a pint glass.

The Perfect Storm is a hazy golden amber with thick white head. It has both good retention and lacing.

Aroma is very and hoppy as you'd expect with lots of great citrus and PNW pine.

Flavor is bold and obviously very hop forward but not bracingly bitter. It has good hop flavor with more of that citrus and pine.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Almost creamy for a double IPA and very drinkable given the strength.

Overall a very good DIPA and one probably worth getting again even with all of the great ones out there.

22 oz bottle served in a large mug. 2015 batch; says it's 8.7% abv this year. Can't find a bottled on date or anything like that.

Pours slightly hazy golden with a perfectly sized large head that fades at a medium pace and appears to be leaving nearly solid sheet of lacing down the sides of the glass. Smell is hop cones, juicy and floral, fruit blossoms of some sort. Very powerful aroma.

Taste is heavily bitter. Sweetness that dominates the aroma is definitely detectable, but bitterness dominates the flavor. Resinous, piney. If you pay close attention, the first splash of flavor as it hits your tongue is juicy and sweet.

Mouthfeel is dry -- really dry. Resinous. Overall, very pleased with this beer.

Drinks a lot like Founders Devil Dancer. Incredible. Beautiful brown poor in a 6 oz. snifter with a finger of off white head. The aroma is surprisingly tame (maybe just too cold). As it warms, the bubblegum/juicy-fruit gum aroma gets enveloped by citrus and floral hop bitterness.

Triple IPA, yes, this drinks like an American style barley wine barley wine. Listed at 112 IBU, the caro-syrup sweetness pushes the complex hop bitterness to a higher plane of flavor sensation. Butter-caramel and plum/raisin in the backend. Very mild fruity alcohol on the breath.

Sticky. Wonderful.
