not exactly the resin bomb you expect from some of the northwest breweries, but a darn good, and mighty sessionable ipa, even at almost 7% abv, its still a beer i can easily down plenty of. lighter in color than many, i pick up on a bit of pils malt right away, coupled with an aggressive but generic hopping, cascade and some columbus if i had to guess, but its hard to say, some C varietals for sure. watershed is a good name, as this has a mineral laden groundwater or runoff property to the water profile, makes it interesting with all the hops. pine driven, well hoppy, medium bitterness, and a punchy freshness that makes it stick despite a relatively clean finish for the style. what i love about oakshire in general is the honesty of it all. a blue collar approach (from what i gather) that presents high quality beer at reasonable prices. not sure what more we can ask for really. good ipa that wage work can afford, i support that to the highest degree.

From the bomber bottle. Sampled on March 30, 2014.

The pour is pale yellow with a slight haze and a modest white fizzy head. The head never really goes away even though it becomes a ring.

The aroma is of milder floral and more forward earthy hops. Toasted biscuit malts kick in to give it that certain character. Generally clean and crisp on the nose.

Light to medium body with some acidity.

Like the nose I get a touch of biscuit malts that quickly erupt into the the floral and earthy hop notes one comes to expect fro IPA. There are better IPA's out there but this one is decent and should appeal to fans of IPA's.

Bought this beer in a can and poured it into my top hops glass. The beer pours a beautiful light amber with a nice one inch head that dissipates quickly. The beer does not leave much if any lacing on the glass. The nose is a nice spicy grass; it’s not super strong but gives you a good idea of what this beer is going to taste like. And the beer tastes exactly like how it smells with those grassy & citrus hops backed up by light bread malts, really a great balance going on here. There is mild carbonation that is smooth on the tongue and goes down nice and easy. Overall this is a very pleasant IPA that is reminiscent of some of the Oregon hoppy beers I’ve had in the past.

A: Opaque orange with a white head.

S: Lots of orange, sweet mango and tangerine in the nose.

T: Starts off with a touch of orange, then orange peel, pine, then sweet nectary tangerine and mango in the finish.

M: Medium bodied and smooth for an IPA.

O: A really good IPA. Definitely recommended.
