Big thanks to Kegatron for giving me a pint of this after his recent trip out west. Much appreciated my friend!

Poured into a pint glass, this brew appears a very hazed golden color with 2 fingers worth of yellowish stained head. The cap recedes slowly leaving patches and finger patterns of lace all over the glass. The head maintains with nearly a finger's strength throughout the duration from the constantly rising bubbles of carbonation.

The smell of this brew initially is strikingly hoppy which really caught me off guard. It displays a scent of citrus, fruit, grass, rinds and pulp. Once you go beyond the hop character in the aroma there is a stinky aspect of something reminiscent of pilsner malt. There is a smell included almost like stinky feet and cheese mixed with sulfur.

The taste includes as much initial hop character as the aroma led on. A citrus hop bite hits the tongue first and gives way to a fruity and rind flavoring that increases with bitterness that is herbal. The bitterness brings on more of a focus on grass character that gets increasingly more vegetative as more sips are taken. There is some sulfur present as well as a light mineral feel throughout this. At times there is a mild sweetness but it gets quickly forgotten due to the overall bitter aspect of this. It displays a long lingering herbal grassy character inside the mouth long after each sip is taken.

This is a medium to light bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. The first couple of sniffs and sips of this brew was a bit shocking but as the experience continued it got increasingly more familiar in an american adjunct kind of way. I wish I would have served this colder, perhaps that would have maintained the initial more pleasing aspects of this brew a little longer. However, when a brewery releases a beer that is their interpretation of a historical style, I am always a little awkward about reviewing it because it is so open to interpretation. For example, for a lager this brew really lacked the crispness to the finish and ease or cleanliness of drink-ability. It did display it's own unique character throughout though. I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to give this a try and would take it as a substitute any day for the typical american adjunct offering.

A> Poured from a pint can, this brew pours a straw-colored gold and is quite hazy. Beautiful 2+ finger head that is thick and fluffy, very good retention.

S> Strong aroma pouring out of the glass. The hops come across as grassy with lemon-like citrus with a sweet grain background that has hints of apricot.

T> The flavor profile is pretty hop-forward, especially for the style. The hops are still grassy but here the citrus takes on more grapefruit like characteristics with moderate bitterness. The malt is fairly subdued, the flavor profiles are much akin to the aroma but more muted. Sweet, apricot-like fruitiness, and just a hint of darker roast.

M> Good carbonation, pretty thin but appropriate for the style. Drinkable while maintaining a bit of complexity.

O> A tasty, well brewed hop-forward lager that is very drinkable while being fairly complex. Although it might be a little too much for people who do not like the bitterness of hops.

Clear pale golden color. Rich and tangy flavor with an appealing hoppy burn. Light body plus a sudsy mouthfeel. Lovely grainy aromas with a flowery nose.

I would say this tastes more like a hoppy Pilsener than any typical lager, but that's a good thing. I don't know what kind of hops they use, but it's an appealing resiny sting with some piney aromas. The mellow corn flavor is a revelation; maybe it's just a matter of brewing with enough grain to end up with this much flavor.

A big surprise at how good this is. I rate it among the best lagers I've had. Another outstanding brew from Ft. George. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Served from the can into a pilsner glass.

A- Poured a hazy light golden color with bright white fluffy head that left dense lacing.

S- Big crisp pilsner malt, lemon, and bready notes.

T- Some pilsner malt notes, light lemon notes, and some big kinda skunky grainy notes. Moderate bitterness for the style.

M- Lighter bodied, slightly watery finish, and soft carbonation.

O- Not a bad beer, but not very exciting. It beats a lot of other american adjunct lagers though. It was interesting to try a craft brewery's take on the style.

Pours orange-gold with a thick white head. Hazey, golden/orange. Floral hop aroma with some hints of lemon zest. Semi-sweet malt profile, noticeable corn flavor that quickly makes way for a spicy hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Extremely dry finish. Simple but tasty lager.

Can I brought to share at drewone's tasting.

Canned 4/2/13.

Pours a murky yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with grassy and hay flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

A medium sized white to slightly off white head settles into a nice lacing above a cloudy thick well carbonated straw golden colored beer.

A very light aroma on this beer about all I can sense is some light sweet attributes, maybe from some lightly roasted grain malts.

A light taste, like washed out light grains that would seem to have been very lightly roasted, yet has a noticeable dry bitterness to the taste.

The dryness and bitterness from the taste are more pronounced in the aftertaste which is drying and without much taste on this lighter bodied beer.

Very light in taste, this would make the ideal beer pong beer, no bad tastes coming through like all the beers that come in 30 packs, yet its taste is very subdued so about anybody can drink it.
