Massive brewery/brewpub with lots of windows and window garage doors. Bar area in the center of main taproom with plenty of tables and what looked like an atrium addition on the right side of the building. Was a beautiful day and many of the garage doors were open afforded a wonderful breeze. Also upstairs (where I did not venture) and a concrete patio on the right side. 20 plus beers on tap. Friendly, efficient service. I did not try the food.

Visited on a Thursday for lunch on my way to Cape Disappointment. Also brought a couple crowlers and a bottle to go. Brought the family -- it's kid friendly, kid menu and everything (for those of you who find that attractive and those of you who find it repellant).

It's a cool location. Bar service, though they bring your food out to your table. Servers were friendly and willing to tell us about their beer and give us a couple samples.

Maybe 20 taps, fairly good variety. Of the fourish beers we tried overall, they were all good (but I already knew they were a good brewery).

Food was good. Wife and I shared a burger (good) and poutine (really good). Clam chowder my in-laws had was really good.

They sort of have three different locations in one -- downstairs, upstairs, and something else. We were downstairs, the only part that was open at noon on a Thursday.

I would 100% come back, and 100% recommend this place to people.

Finally made it here, and it was worth the wait. Large facility down the street from their production brewery. Three seperate taprooms await, each with slightly different taplists. So much to choose from! Small asphalt patio bewteen two of the taprooms. Street parking wasn't an issue. Great service and great beer.

one of the best breweries in the northwest, unsung at they sometimes seem to be still outside of their home turf, where everybody knows their greatness. it was amazing to finally get to check this place out, i was totally blown away, and not just on beer quality, also on people quality, the food, the vibes, all of it. they have a whole compound here and its amazing, in addition to their new production brewery right on the water that we were lucky enough to tour as well while we were in town, super state of the art and exciting for them, big things in their future to be sure. the original spot is incredible, pretty much a whole city block up on the hill. standing in a little courtyard in the middle of it looking down to the water on the left is the barrel room, where there is a small brewery set up, stacks of barrels everywhere, plenty of seating. a little wedge of a room on the side is nice and cozy and kind of private with a fireplace and a small bar, while the rest of the space is expansive. they had a lot of their most exciting and barrel aged beers on in here when we popped in, including a sexy matryoshka variant and a new barleywine aged in blackberry brandy barrels, wow! great service over here, really low key vibes, great place to sip a few fine ales. to my right from the courtyard is the main building, with one restaurant downstairs, pub food vibes with a whole separate tap list than the upstairs, which is all about heady pizza, cool patio up there too with killer views. you can enter from the street on the top or the bottom level, take the stairs, whatever, its such a cool property with a literal choose your own adventure for eating and drinking, so sick! i was stoked on all the different tap lists, and loved just about all the beers we had in here. i was new to their wild stuff and loved the nectarine vanilla wild ale, as well as all of the lagers we had. they even had a session strength barrel aged stout, so cool! we ate upstairs at the pizza spot and the pies were awesome, as was the service, super welcoming, accommodating to kids, and generous with the beer samples. mellow spot up here, great views, a little stage area for some live music perhaps, and its enormous without feeling impersonal. the beer speaks for itself but it was great to go deeper with it, they do so well with so many things. one of my favorite overall brewery experiences in a long time, absolutely not to be missed, in the conversation for top handful in the country for my money...

edit: also, it should be noted that these guys host one of the best beer events in the world in festival of the dark arts each february, which is so professionally done, well curated and executed, and epic overall, that it has to elevate their status even further.

Great old brick warehouse on hillside with views of Pacific Ocean, in nice little downtown area of Astoria. Parking is a free for all in the neighborhood, but if you have a plug in electric, you get to park right across the alley way. If you want pizza, really good beer and views, go up the ramps. Good and open rooms with all windows on the westerly walls, polished concrete floors, good wooden bar with fine artisanal pizzas to go with their beers. When in the very northwest corner of Oregon, do stop here, to at least whet your whistle.

A weird mix of layers with upstairs/downstairs/taproom setup Warehouse-like setup with a bar and seats on the entry level, a similar but slightly different setup (and food offerings) on the second floor is where we set up. I usually like to lay out the seating in my reviews, but this place is odd; upstairs seemed to have ~20 seats, downstairs a few less, maybe; and the small (original?) tap room a handful at most.

Fort George beers are across the board solid, with peaks above and seemingly no valleys. The offerings lay heavily on IPAs, but their darker offerings were quite good. That said, a person wouldn’t find much outside of the popular styles of the region and time.

Service was at least a five on our single visit. I can’t expect what we got to be the norm, which is why I left a little room to decide later that my expectations were awry.

Anyhow, we had a great time at the brewery and its offerings, especially the smaller tasting room.

Worked our way up to Astoria, somehow managed to knock off everything on our list with more than enough time to spare to take in some indigenous beverages. You can tell they're in an older building with some character, but it's been given some nice modern touches that totally work. Bonus points for being able to see, and smell, the brewhouse from the bar. Bartender made sure we were never thirsty, for beer or water, which I appreciate. Nice variety of options on the board. Hazy hoppy beers were solid, but who would have known that an American milk stout would blow me away. I left happy to say the least. With all the great Oregon beer I knew about before starting our trip, this was the sleeper.

Sunny Saturday afternoon. We happened to be there on a day when a cruise ship had docked at Astoria for the day. The staff said they got hammered at lunch but all seemed to be in goos spirits. The place is large, with two buildings across a small courtyard. The main dining room was glass and a great view of the river. Staff friendly and efficient. The beer list was not huge - about a dozen or so. With the exception of one Saison and a stout, everything else was either a Pale AlE or an an IPA. Food was good, the menu being rather typical of brewery dining.

Large pub brewery in Astoria. Great bar/pub feel about it. While I enjoyed the food - great burgers - I felt the freshly made chips were not fresh. The friendly server made up for it with Beer knowledge - he mentioned he was in training for a Beer certification! Huge number of beer choices.

Stormy Wednesday night in February. Two stories rebuilt commercial building. I think there's more to the place than I saw. I lucked out it's Stout Month so as far as I'm concerned the beer selection was great. :-) Different food downstairs and up. Pizzas upstairs, that's where we went, hit the spot. Good sweet desserts. Slightly different tap lists up and downstairs but our first server -- they rotate but it was never a problem--ran downstairs for tasters for me. No charge tasters, very nice. Kid friendly upstairs.

Beers fit my taste. Lots of chocolate, coffee, roasty flavors. I liked Viva La Stout a lot, Mexican chocolate beer; and May The Oats Be With You, good oatmeal (duh) stout. These were specials/seasonals for Stout Month. My honey ordered a Plaid Scotch Ale. She approved, I tasted it, it's a Scotch Ale but sorry I didnt pay much attention.

I liked this establishment. :-)

Hit the Duane Vibe was fairly nice, with the L shaped bar that had room for maybe ten to twelve guest. Smallish in the main floor with some high tables in the bar area and regular tables in the "dining" area.

Quality of the one beer I had was very good.

Service was OK as I stood at the bar waiting for someone to pour a pint. But to their credit they were very busy as we had a 1/2 hour wait on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30?!? Biz is obviously good there.

Selection was pretty good as I believe they had 14 brews on tap.

Did not try the food.

Overall this is a high quality brewpub with a solid lineup that is worthwhile to be a destination if you are in the region. 3 Way IPA is definitely a winner!

Great place to end our drive up the OR coast, not to mention conveniently located a block off the main street. My wife & I sat in the pub, which was fairly busy early on a Sunday evening. All the beers we tried were good but it was the food that really stood out. I had the albacore fish & chips, which was much more hearty than the cod/whitefish you get in your standard Midwest fish fry. Now, looking back, I wonder if the tuna came from a can, but at the time I was hungry and didn't care. It was delicious regardless. The fish came on a generous bed of fries (chips) that were also excellent. My wife opted for the sausage sampler. The "hot and spicy" italian sausage wasn't hot at all but again, we didn't care and ate it anyway.

Service was efficient. Our server was attentive but not especially chatty. Prices seemed reasonable for the area. We would have liked to stay longer and sample more of their beers but sadly, we had to make our way back to Portland.

One of the best brew pubs I've ever been to. They have an upstairs area which looks newer and has a restaurant feel to it. A downstairs which has a more "bar" look to it. And a tap room, which was closed when we were there. The three areas have different menus which was weird.

Ate in the pub in the upstairs area. Great views of the Columbia river and cool breeze coming thru the windows. Good mix of small tables and large community style tables. They even had board games that you could borrow to play with while there.

Had the full flight. 13 tasters for $17. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the beers and food. The beers felt out of order as we went in order many milder beers followed strong ones causing two of them to literally taste like water. The vortex, 3-way IPA, Nut red, working girl porter were my favorites. Divinity and sunshine OPA were my wife's favorites.

Friendly service all around. Great facility that is the latest thing open in Astoria. The upstairs area has a big city gastropub look/feel in a small town. Great menu, bottles, growlers and swag to go. Loved the experience but didn't like that we had to moveto the downstairs venue to get the desert we wanted. But the desert was excellent and the great service did continue downstairs. Hope to return sometime.
