Pours hazy orange, honey colored. Fizzy, yellowed head. Light hop aroma. A bit weak. Flavorful for sure, pineapples. Fruity hop flavor. Almost tastes tropical. Malt backbone. Nice balance of flavors. Smooth, medium bodied. Good drinker for sure. Great to pair with almost any food. Not sure about the alcohol level, but it seems like it would be a great session pale.

A: Pours a hazy orange color. A one finger white head forms and sticks around for a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: Grassy and citrus hops. Some grapefruit even. Well balanced with a light caramel sweetness. Bread and biscuit.
T: Follows the nose to a T. Big hoppy notes. Grassy, floral and citrus. A light grapefruit bitterness, but that is held in check with a good balance of malt. Some sweetness, but mostly bread and biscuit.
M/D: A medium body and good carbonation. Really crisp, clean, and dry. So easy to drink. All day with this one.

An excellent pale ale. Probably my favorite from the brewpub. Highly recommended.

A - orange hue, a little murky

S - citrus, pine. Classic APA nose

T - dry and drinkable with firm hop bitternerss and nice hop flavor. Great!

M/D - perhaps a little over carbonated, which may impede drinkability. Overall and excellent representation of the APA style.

a solid brew that is simple but hits all the bases. cloudy amber with a nice body and head. the nose is mlidly hopped with a bright pine floral. palate is husky grit palate cleansing but works nicely with the citrus fruit of lemon and plum. nice malt finish. solid all around.

The beer pours a hazy yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is very fruity with a lot of citrus notes. The flavor is orange, grapefruit and bread. The flavor is very juicy. Low to medium bitterness. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice hoppy American Pale Ale.

Tried on tap 13 Jun 2009.
deep golden amber colored beer with pleasant earthy spicy hop aroma and grapefruit smell. starts sweet but quickly transitions to hop bitterness. grapefruit and earthy, lingering hop finish. medium bodied. aroma has better balance than taste.

Served on-tap at Uncle Billy's while waiting for the food to arrive.

Cloudy, copperish orange body with an ephemeral light tan head. Not much lacing either, although I'll forgive the beer this time since the bartender wasn't a fan of foam. Very nice aroma of light citrusy hops and tropical fruits, balanced by a crisp mineral presence and a backbone of pale malts.

I really enjoyed this Pale Ale...quite possibly the best Austin (or all of Texas for that matter) has to offer in terms of style, with the exception of Freetail's eXXXtra Pale Ale. Citrsy, resinous hops drop a bitterness level akin to an IPA, but without sacrificing the drinkability or clean finish of a Pale thanks to a beautifully-placed caramel and biscuit malt balance. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, with a perfect carbonation level and a refreshing, medium-light body. All in all, a fantastic brew by the Uncle Billy's crew, and one I'll certainly be having again.

pours a nice consistent orange yellowish color with small head and no lacing

smells closer to an ipa. the smell is great.nice and hoppy

the taste is very similiar to their hop zombie ipa recipe but slighty less hoppy. tasted very fresh and it was a pleasant surprise to have a pale ale taste so hoppy and ipa like. at 5.6% its very calm and ultra drinkable.

having this after the hop zombie i was belching fresh hops all night!!!

Pours a translucent orange-golden color with a fine-bubbled white head that fades at an average clip to a nice sheen and collar. Good lacing.

Smell is aromatic piney and citrus hops. Sappy pine bark comes to mind with this one. Hints of crystal and lighter malts with some green grape and apple aroma.

Mostly a piney hop flavor with a hefty amount of mildly sweet light malts. It's a pretty decent, straightforward pale ale that I would be happy to order again.
