On tap at Uncle Billy's Brew and Que in Austin:

A - Pale straw, clear

S - a little sulphur, clean, crisp noble hop aroma.

T - clean malt with plenty of hop flavor

M/D - dry and drinkable. Medium light body. Fairly high carbonation. Very tasty.

the brewer prefers all his beers being to some degree unfiltered. this is an unfiltered pilsner. a fantastic look of mildly cloudy yellow and a tight white bubbles of solid white of about three fingers. nose of lemon zest and earthiness. palate brings out the grass. its tight and clean on the tongue. the keller comes out as a character note after about two weeks of being on tap said by locals. none the less. an austin must for beer goers.

Pours yellow with a white head. The aroma is light malt, similar to a pilsener with some yeast and grassy hops. Really a nice smelling beer. The flavor is more of the same malts with some nice grassy hops and some nice bitterness to counter the malt sweetness. High carbonation and a thin-medium mouthfeel.

Pint before my food. Only $2.5 on Tuesdays! (Other house brews 2 bucks; Hop Tap and Organic Amber slightly more due to cost of ingredients)

Attractive golden and hazy. Great head retention.

Smells like a hoppy kolsch - tastes like one too. Very grassy - noble hops but I don't think Saaz. A particular hop I don't find as pleasant as most. Honey-pear flavours in the middle, dry hoppy finish and aftertaste.

Thick and very drinkable.

Good choice for a keg, or growler for a game.

This beer won the silver medal in the Keller beer category at the 2008 GABF. I was able to sample it there but had not seen it at the brewpub until last week, it was the feature for the monthly cask night.

Poured into a pint glass. Little or no head. Color was a light cloudy yellow.
Aroma: Smell of noble hops. Very clean. Very prominent for a beer this light.
Taste: Cirtusy, medium amount of bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Very light mouthfeel.
Drinkability: extremely drinkable. I had 3 of these.

A very nice beer in a style that is rarely seen in the US. If you ever get a chance to try this on cask you will not be disappointed.

Serving type: cask
