On tap at the brewpub. What a great name for an imperial stout.

The beer pours a deep, dark black color with a tan head. There is absolutely no light or color in the beer. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt. I don't get much, if any dark fruit.

The flavor is more of the same. The predominant thing I get is a lot of burnt/very heavily roasted malt with some chocolate malt mixed in. Once again, there is not really any dark fruit or other notes in the flavor. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable, but it is not boozy or hard to drink.

Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice RIS. Good to see another good beer of this style from a Texas brewery.

Very dark pour, nearly black with some blood red edges. Medium brown head with minimal lacing.

Big roasty aroma with equally big chocolate notes, sweet malts, and a touch of heat.

Taste was pretty similar: Roasted malts, some sugar sweetness, lots of chocolate and bittersweet notes and a bit of alcohol.

The feel was creamy, but lacked a lot of substance and was more medium in body.

With a bit more omph, this thing would be killer! Still though, it's quite enjoyable and I'd grab a pour everytime I was in there.
