Had this on-tap at their taproom/brewpub.
Reddish tan body with a small head, no lacing.
Aroma is fairly mild when cold. Hops, pine, tart grapefruit citrus. Once it warmed up, I could taste some bready aromatics as well as an alcohol bite.
Gotta say, middle and end are great. Up front it is kind of sharp, dry, perhaps a bit sour. Once youve had a few sips the drinkability goes way up. Wet and dry hopped, with a good alcohol kick.
I liked XX Mountains IRA offering better than this, but as an IPA, it can hold its own against a lot of the bigger breweries. It definitly gets lots of points for its unique attributes such as their propietary yeast strains.

Double Mtn. Brewing 'Hop Lava IPA' @ 7.0% , served from a 500 ml bottle purchased for $6
A-pour is a pale yellow/gold from the bottle to a slightly hazy gold in the glass with a big frothey white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-very little hop presence , no malty backbone
T-citrus more than pine for a 'NW IPA'
MF-ok/good carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-ok beer , lacks something (maybe forgeting the 'Pacific' in NW IPA ? ;)
