Thanks to rudzud for sharing.

bottled 1/15/14, brewed in 2012

Pours a small fizzy head that fades almost instantly, typical sour, bright cherry red but dark and murky color.

NOse brings tons of cherry, a nice kriek like cherry, little sour cherry note and tartness, little sweet syrupyness, mild funky sour note, Pretty basic.

Taste is also a bit lighter than expected, well at least not really too complex, some cherry, not a ton of cherry, sour cherry note, little dank funk, little sweet syrupy and cherry coffee syrup, little boozy too, tangy and acidic. Finish is a bit syrupy, bit booze warmth too, little more sour cherry and tangy, sticky.

Mouth is med bod, mild acid note, light booze warmth, lighter carb.

Overall eh, not bad, but nothing special. Bit too boozy and not enough carb, fairly basic and meh but not bad. 375

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice light light hazy red kriek hue with thin wisps and nice halo.

S - Aromas of well, kriek, light cherries, faint funk. Not that complex.

T - Taste is rather boozy, faint cherries. Nice kriek notes, boozy, cherry pit, light funk, not that sour, not hot booze either just noticeable.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated though still heavy and boozy.

O - Overall this beer was solid, average, wish there was more more cherries though.

Another surprise from rathakem, enjoyed from my double mountain snifter immediately following a bottle of tahoma kreik. Also bottled on 1/15/14

Brew pours a richer more rose red than the tahoma but also has a quickly gone cap of bubbles. The nose is a richer more ripe dark cherry and more appetizing than the tahoma, but has the same superb balance without any of the negative odors that might be associated with a kreik. The flavor is also more robust and rich ripe cherry, but without the vinous qualities found in the tahoma. Prickly carb and an easy drinker, like deep cherry soda.rich and flavorful with a deep dark cherry core, but not as vinous as the tahoma which came off a bit more accessible and well rounded.

Bottle opened on 3.2.14
Bottled 01/15/14

A - Pours a cloudy reddish-brown with a very small tan head that is gone instantly.

S - Tart and sweet cherry.

T - Subtle and soft cherry, stems. No tartness on the tongue.

D - Good carbonation with a light body.

O - Solid flavors, mild but tartness and funk is lost. I did enjoy it.

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Bright red. Small white head. Uneven collar.

Smell - Cherry. Vanilla. Some caramel and a little acidity.

Taste - Mildly sour. Cherry. Sweet cherry up front. A little vinegary after that. More tart in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium light. Astringent. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Pretty flavorful, but not really dynamic enough.

Poured from 375mL bottle into a tulip. This is the 2012 Devil's Kriek, bottled 1/15/14, and clocking in at 8.5% ABV.

Appearance: rich, deep dark red hue with no haze and a strong effervescence. Head poured a finger of fizzy foam that dissipated pretty much instantly. That's not great, but that color -- so enticing!

Smell: rich cherry aroma with just the right amount of tartness. I'm a sucker for krieks, and this one is working for me.

Taste: starts off tart, then a mild funkitude becomes evident. Towards the end the cherries appear; not sweet, but very flavorful. Maybe not quite the complexity I would like, but overall quite good.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and a fizzy, interesting mouthfeel. Not exactly creamy.

Overall: a tasty kriek which I, personally, find very satisfying and drinkable. I would look forward to having this again.

This review is for how it was served in a bottle.

I had a chance to try it tapped at the DM anniversary, and it was much better there.

The low carbo and appearance is attractive and gives you a very dark red cherry look.

Tasted the cherry's up front but the alcohol took over a bit. At first i thought that was the point for this drink, until i had it on tap.

Either way it's a solid drink but i preferred the tahoma kriek over this one.
