Awesome! Love the sour/sweet/rich and fruit complexities. The carbonation is spot on and effervescence lifts the flavors across the palate. Rich brown color and great carmel head. The nose is mostly sweet with spice and dark fruit notes. Alcohol and warming carbonation play well with tart sour notes and rich malty backbone. Can't get enough of this stuff.

Poured into pint glass during Portland Mighty Mites small beer festival~
What can I say? It's good, but nothing overly exciting. This brew does have more of an amber ale style to it than brown ale (which might have been an incorrect listing - I will investigate, but I think it should be listed as a Kolsch) with an abundance of German malts on the nose and palate with a little pizzazz from the Kolsch yeast. Pretty fruity with that faint metallic twinge from the Pilsner malt.
Overall a good Kolsch/Amber style beer meant for sipping among friends.

Very dark brown colour with a creamy smooth tan head. Great head retention.
A big, roasted coffee aroma with a light toasty sweetness. Nice.
Smooth and roasty with a nice nutty finish. Great malt character with just a small hit of bitterness for balance. Is this really 3.5%?
Medium full body with a silky low carbonation. Nice.
A great smooth low alcohol beer. Packed full of flavour and simply delightful.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a very dark brown/light black, the beer looked like a porter, with a tall tan head that had very good retention and lacing.
The aroma had a great roasted scent, again more like a porter than a brown. The flavors weren't as bold as the aroma had lead me to expect, but still very nice and well-rounded.
The body was full, smooth and well-rounded. Drinkability was very good. Overall, a nice beer that more like a porter than a brown. Worth trying if you see it.
