Pours very low carbonation but not all the way flat. I remember fresh Hopsolutely is very low carbed so no surprise there. Pretty dark gold color. Pleasant aroma and taste follows, bread malts with a little funk thrown in, spicy not sour. Tastes very much like regular Hopsoloutely tastes as it ages. Considering this beer has to be 4 years old now? I'd say it's pretty damn good. Would like to have tried this fresh, oh well, maybe they'll make it again, but I doubt it. Cork and cage is so yesterday. Another beer I'd love to see is unfiltered Double Simcoe cork and cage, man that was an amazing beer. Did I mention this was clearance sale $3? Yes, 3$ and I would get the last one on the shelf for that same $3.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, earth, Brett, and funk aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet malt, fruit, and slight funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of funk bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is interesting with its sweet and funk qualities mixing together.

OOPS. I hate Brett beers and am not in love with barrel aged beer neither. Buying a bunch of singles and bombers on vacation and I didn't look closely at the label (though I was getting 2 of the regular Hop'solutely).

Bottom line: I like this one better than the regular.

Poured slightly hazier and a little deeper straw-colored than the regular and the head was a mite firmer.

The smell was same as regular with a whiff of funk that didn't seem off-putting while still being very present.

Still a little thin and slightly over-carbonated for what I was expecting, but this was still a big hoppy, boozy beer with a solid spine of sweet malts. Unlike the regular, the grapefruit and citrus is accompanied by a hint of banana and a suggestion of sourness. Still WAY too big to drink more than one, but the more complex flavors make the hop explosion of the Brett version more interesting than the regular.

A good mistake on my part, buying the "wrong" beer!
