On tap @ Allentown Brew Works 10/18 (O.G. 1.058 ABV 5.7%)
This is about the 6th time I've had this brew.
Dark brown with small head, good lacing.
Strong aroma of chocolate, carmel and malt. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, english malt and carmel. A very tasty and extremely drinkable porter. Not too heavy. A very nice staple beer here at Allentown.

A fine example a of a good, clean American porter, though maybe a touch on the lighter side. The malt profile was more dark roasted coffee with a touch of cocoa and black grains. I like more chocolate and less obvious grain taste, but it was still pretty tasty and nicely balanced.

Served on tap at the Bethlehem location, poured into a pint glass

A- pours black with no head whatsoever. Not sure if that was due to sitting out at the bar for awhile or not, so I won't dock it too bad

S- the aroma is faint, but what I'm getting is roasted malts and light chocolate

T- chocolate and coffee are the predominant flavors, with a decent bit of roast

M- a little thin

O- nothing really outstanding here, just an easy drinking porter

Appearance: A nice dark brown with a cream-colored head. Fades after a few minutes leaving some lacing

Smell: Not much. A bit of malt and smoke.

Taste: Lots of roasted malt. Yummy.

Mouthfeel: Mellow with a bit of bitterness

Drinkability: Very nice drinkable beer. Goes down easy with with the Brew Works lobster dip. Oh yeah!

On tap at the Allentown Brew Works location.

This one poured a deep brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, and light coffee. Tastes of chocolate, roast, coffee, and light caramel. Overall a nice Porter.

Appearance is dark brown with ruby and copper colors on the edges. There was a finger of head that retained for a bit. The nose was mildly roasty. As for the taste, roasted malts were present throughout and this offering had a mild bitterness on the finish. This is a standard, drinkable, but definitely unremarkable, porter.

A really nice straight forward American style porter. Dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Slight hints of roasted coffee and chocolate in the nose. Tatse of roasted malt and a backround hint of licorice that became more apparent as the beer warmed.

Overall a very nice, solid and easy to drink porter.

On-Tap at the Allentown Brew Works

A - Dark, chocolate brown color with a thin light brown head, laces nicely

S - Dominant notes of chocolate, cocoa, light fruitiness, oats and malts

T - Chocolate and malts are the dominant flavors, and there is a definite ashy flavor; slight alcohol warmth hits the front of the pallet but subsides nicely behind the rest of the flavors; slight sugary sweetness

M - Feels a little thin and watery for the style, leaves a dryness on the pallet

D - Easy to drink, seems more session-able then it probably is at 5.7 ABV, but I still enjoyed a few. Maybe it's just me, but I would label this a stout based on mouthfeel alone...I know there is no real difference between the two, but I've become accustomed to a thicker, heavier beer being labeled as Porter...just my .02

A pretty opaque chocolate black color with a fair, splotchy oatmeal colored head and very nice lacing scribbled along the glass. The aroma is charcoal chocolate with a touch of mild floral hops and a hint of swamp water. The flavor brings grainy malt and more charcoal and chocolate. It's fairly thin and a fair drinker, very carbonated, and leaves a definite burnt wood bitterness on the tongue. Kind of weak in feel and flavor seems undeveloped. The flavor seems washed away after the initial charcoal hit. It gathers a little creaminess as it warms. This was OK, pretty drinkable, but ultimately forgettable.
