12oz purchased at Al's of Hampden -my bottle says it was bottled at Allentown brew works. Shared with octopus87, my wife enjoyed from a tumbler.
I should preface my review by saying I am not one of those fundamentally opposed to fruit beers, even those that are just 'fruited wheats' for summertime drinking.
I like the way it looks since you can tell a dark colored fruit was used -it has a gentle pink hue and the cream caps it with a head the is small and white. The retention is good. There is a mild haze with some sporadic lace. The smell is decent but a little low in the blueberry aromas for me. The main odor is of wheat which smells kind of creamy and slightly sweet. The feel is good, creamy as the smell indicates with a nice light fruit tanginess and carbonation is not too high to give the impression of blueberry soda. There is a light yeast element but generally it finishes more on the dry side, let's say semi-dry.
Blueberry belch has a good taste for a wheat based fruit beer. the blueberry presence is there, it could be ratcheted up a notch though. I like the mild toastiness int he malt with wheat yeast adding to the feel and flavor with some creaminess and gently sweet tinges from the fruit and malt are present. I didn't think it was bland, but slightly better than mediocre might be a better way of describing it. The thing that dissapoints me about this is the way it is portrayed -blueberry 'belch' makes you think you will have an intense blueberry flavor which is not delivered here - the label promises more than the beer can back up

Fantastic blueberry beer. A great balance between beer and blueberry. A wonderful, light summer drink.

The color after the pour was some what of a ruby color. The smell of the beer was blue berries and wheat. The taste of this beer was a bit tart and acidic but not over powering. The mouth feel was a bit loose and watery. Not much in terms of carbonation. Super light body for sure. I can't see myself drinking a bunch of these on a hot day , but bc of the low abv of 4.2% it is possible to crush. I did notice , as the beers warms to room temp, the flavors/aroma, pop a bit more.
