On-tap at the brewpub.

The description seemed to say this had a Belgian influence, but it basically tastes like sweet blueberry waffles. The malt is bland and the blueberry doesn't even come out until the beer warms. I'd say pass on this one unless you really like blueberry flavoring and bland beer. Maybe this just isn't for me.

Deep ruby color, semi hazed with light pink highlights. Bubbly and sticky off white head with a pink hue. Smells of fresh ripe berries including blueberries. Light grain husk underneath it all.

Not feeling this beer so much. Light body with sort of coarseness. Light blueberry flavors along with sour flavors, some soapiness and nail polish. Slight alcohol heat on the back end too. Not a good beer at all. Smelt and looked fun but all in badly done.

A: A feverish effervesce rises within a hazy oxidized orange body. A sudsy bone white head sits a finger high with a modest rate of retention. No window dressing.

S: Freshly picked blueberries, a bit tart of modest strength, basic, simple but aroma was fresh and real, not artificial or juice like, a plus.

T: The flavor was a bit sweet and sugary at first before a quick movement of tart blueberries comes into play. Some vague signs of hopping, stemmy and vine like with a wheat backing. The taste does get smoother and tones down after the initial sip and is fairly reasonable to handle. As a fruit beer and against other blueberry beers, maybe a bit above average.

M: The mouthful was fizzy with a strong seltzer like carbonation, tart, dry with a fade of blueberries remaining behind. The carbonation could have been toned down a bit.

O: Overall I understand to review and critique by style, it is hard to make a blueberry beer respectable to a bunch of hard core craft drinkers who rather opt for ipas, or Belgians. That being said the flavor was balanced nicely, not obnoxious or over done, seemed fresh and not artificial. Didn’t have to much high hopes coming in, didn’t really impress, but is as good as most blueberry style beers out there, as a fruit beer average perhaps.

12oz bottle from The CPJ, who knows I usually hate blueberry beers. That said, this is either a practical joke, or actually a good example of the style. Let's see...

A - Pours a light gold with a slight pinkish-blue tint to it and a densely packed white head that settles to a nice cap.
S - Crisp sweet malt with a good amount of fairly genuine blueberry influence. Got a bit of a blueberry pancake thing going on here, but overall it's not too bad.
T - OK, this isn't too bad. Light malt, a bit of wheat, and some genuine blueberry flavor without all the usual cloying sweetness. I could actually drink a couple of these.
M - Light and crisp, with a thin body and sharp carbonation. Quite quenching, really, I could probably have a few of these on a hot day.
O - Easily the best blueberry beer I've had, and I usually abhor the style. Nice job!

Snagged a bottle of this for 3 bucks at the house of 1,000 beers.

A - Pours a clear amber brown (thankfully not blue or artificial) with a 1/2 inch of white head.

S - Wow this smells great. Tart blueberries, wheat, and balancing biscuit. Smells quite good.

T - Well damn these guys can make a great blueberry ale! Starts off tart and acidic with true blueberry and sour apple taste, then the wheat takes hold leading to a sweet biscuit like finish that gives it a nice clean sweet taste. I love it.

M - Light to medium. Refreshing.

Overall I have had many Blueberry beers but non have the true level of fruit and balance like these guys did here. Well done Allentown brew works!

Pours a ruby tinted light brown color, slightly murky, minimal cap of head, bubbly and active. Scent brings blueberries to the front with slight nose of biscuity malt and tangy wheat on the back end, not too aggressive. Taste leads with blueberry, transitions to light sweet malts with some grassy wheat notes, ends with some mineral/metallic water notes. Lighter side of medium, bubbly and active on the tongue. Solid blueberry beer, good summer drinker.

Appearance is a bluish-ruby with a finger of head that dissipated quickly (basically, this looks like beer with a bunch of blueberries crushed into it). Not surprisingly, this also smells like beer with blueberries crushed into it. Ditto for the taste. This offering is light and refreshing with a pleasant tart finish.

I am not a big fan of fruity beers, but this one is definitely NOT bad.

12 oz bottle poured into a shaker.

Appearance
Cloudy amber with 2 fingers of fizzy, pink-tinged head that dissipates quickly. Some sediment rests on the bottom of the glass.

Nose
Seltzer water and blueberry.

Taste
Again, just seltzer water and a chalky, artificial blueberry flavor.

Mouthfeel
Light bodied, airy, and stinging with carbonation. This offends me.

Overall
There is absolutely nothing going on here.

A - Pours a gold color with some blue tint to it (if you can imagine that, probably more like a copper pink color), light foamy head, barely any carbonation.

S - Blueberries and honey malt.

T - The tartness sends a shiver across the tongue for a few seconds before it adjusts itself. Blueberry and green apples with a light malt base and a clean finish.

M - Medium light body.

O - A decent summer beer but considering it's now October and this is considered a summer seasonal, that would explain the tartness up front. I'll revisit this review next summer when it's available again and make the appropriate changes.

12oz purchased at Al's of Hampden -my bottle says it was bottled at Allentown brew works. Shared with octopus87, my wife enjoyed from a tumbler.

I should preface my review by saying I am not one of those fundamentally opposed to fruit beers, even those that are just 'fruited wheats' for summertime drinking.

I like the way it looks since you can tell a dark colored fruit was used -it has a gentle pink hue and the cream caps it with a head the is small and white. The retention is good. There is a mild haze with some sporadic lace. The smell is decent but a little low in the blueberry aromas for me. The main odor is of wheat which smells kind of creamy and slightly sweet. The feel is good, creamy as the smell indicates with a nice light fruit tanginess and carbonation is not too high to give the impression of blueberry soda. There is a light yeast element but generally it finishes more on the dry side, let's say semi-dry.

Blueberry belch has a good taste for a wheat based fruit beer. the blueberry presence is there, it could be ratcheted up a notch though. I like the mild toastiness int he malt with wheat yeast adding to the feel and flavor with some creaminess and gently sweet tinges from the fruit and malt are present. I didn't think it was bland, but slightly better than mediocre might be a better way of describing it. The thing that dissapoints me about this is the way it is portrayed -blueberry 'belch' makes you think you will have an intense blueberry flavor which is not delivered here - the label promises more than the beer can back up

A-Pours a clear gold with a big frothy white head and good stickiness.

S-Sweet fruitiness dominates the nose. Not too sweet, but clear fruit notes.

T-Sweet maltiness combined with a very pleasant, moderately sweet, moderately tart blueberry flavor. Hops are quite light. For a fruit beer, damn good.

M-Light bodied, nicely crisp and dry for a fruit beer.

O-As fruit beers go, this one is pretty tasty. Not overly sweet, just a bit tart.

I poured this beer into a pint glass,it has a nice golden color body with a 2" white head. The smell is sweet of blueberry. The taste is not overwelming, it has a nice balance of malt and blueberry, not overly sweet. This beer has a nice mouth feel, goes over the tongue really nice. Overall this is a good, drinkable beer.

Murky golden amber with white bubbly head. Aroma of blueberries, candy sweets, wheat, lemon cookies. Tastes are balanced and welcoming: wheat, blueberry stays in the background, hops come through in the middle and the beer finishes with lemon cookies and some honey. Light body with medium carbonation. Refreshing and the flavor isn't overpowering.
