12 oz bottle

Flavor: Has a very rich flavor with good use of barrel aging. Slightly smokey but no burnt qualities. Excellent balance.

Feel: Medium-full body with appropriate carbonation.

O: Given no expectations, a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Pours pitch black with a tiny head that fades fast. Seemingly no lacing.

Rich vanilla, bourbon, toffee, bit of chocolate sweetness on the nose. super sweet and delicious smelling.

Woody, chocolatey up front. Bourbon in the middle with a slightly bitter coffee on the tail end. Very nice spiciness is in there as well.

Thick and silky smooth. Coats the mouth. Very slight warming from the alcohol.

This is a worthwhile stout. The BB aging definitely comes through and rounds it out nicely.

very nice aromas including vanilla, chocolate cake, cherry, grassy marshy hops, the bourbon is blended and faint, just adding a little something extra. not particularly bourbon forward. also a really smooth drinker, having a hard time keeping it to small sips.

Bought this along with more expensive bottles of brew at my local bottle shop. It is a "local" beer so I thought I'd give it a try as I love bourbon barrel stouts.
Appearance: Jet black. Poured into my Stone tulip glass, it had a fair amount of foam which settled quickly down.
Smell: A faint amount of bourbon and roast.
Taste: Roasted coffee, faint chocolate. Pleasant bit of bourbon on the end.
Mouthfeel: Somewhat thin for a RIS.
Overall: No one will mistake this for BCBS. However, it is an affordable and pleasant drink that will please those who like BA stouts. Just don't expect the moon. Highly recommend letting this warm for at least 20 minutes as the flavors come out much more.
