Had this beer in several different locations in Myrtle Beach this summer and have bought it several times at the store since.

Overall this was a surprising beer. It is not an overwhelming complex full bodied beer that will make you sip on for hours trying to figure out its deeper meaning.

It is however the perfect beach and tailgating beer. It is light with a good taste, and will not fill you up. It tastes better with lime but have had it without.

Overall I like this beer and it has become one of my regular store purchases and will be my go to beach beer.

Doesn't even taste like beer. I finished it because there was no other beer.

Very ugly shade of yellow in a clear bottle. Only reason I tried this is that my hotel has it for $0.25 during happy hour on Wednesdays. The second sip was only to confirm that the first sip really happened. Used the rest of the bottle as drain cleaner.

Landshark Lager was a light-bodied disappointment and, yes, I actually had some solid expectations. Ostensibly, I was expecting something of a lighter lager with tones of flavorful lime and refreshing hops, something I could easily down on one of these summer nights. Unfortunately, this is one of the most unremarkable beers I've tried in a while. The flavor is indicative of extreme amounts of corn and cheap grains, so much so that the "Margarittaville Brewing Company" label couldn't be further from an idea of what the final product actually tastes like. It is beyond and bland and almost entirely tasteless outside of overpowering corn. To make matters worse, my bottle wasn't as chilled as it could've been, which proved bad for about the first nine or ten ounces but detrimental and nearly undrinkable for the remaining two or so. For the brewing company's bestselling, most mainstream beer, it's surely a miserably tasteless and needless offering.

One of my favorite beers. What sucks is winter time, no one buys it so it just sits on shelves. But summertime, one of the best beers. People waste money in Corona or expensive terrible Mexican beers. This "island style lager" is very smooth and light so goes great with any food also. 12 pack is 12$. Not too bad.

Appearance - This is a pretty, light yellow in color, like a yellow highlighter, with a nice, big, easy, puffy head.

Smell - The corn here is slightly creamed and hops are completely absent.

Taste - The corn is horribly big at the taste.

Mouthfeel - This one felt pretty good in between the cheeks. It's light-bodied of course but the carbs felt good, not that cheap fizzy carbonation you get with a lot of offerings in this category.

Sinkability - The nasty corn is just too offense to try to plow through 12 full ounces.

Had this while traveling on business. Yellowish beer with whitish head that fizzled quickly. Smelled of very little. NOt much aroma to upgrade or downgrade score. Taste was kind of the same way. It was very cold at first and while cold I thought a cleaner flavor than the usual American Macro. Not much hop bitterness to speak of. But while it warmed it started to have a sulphur aroma and some flavors I did not like. Mouthfeel was fizzy and thin. I added about half a lime when my Shrimp Po Boy showed up and it improved the taste dramatically, but my ratings are without the lime. Overall not a good effort.

This beer isn't going to compete with any quality beers but it is a decent mild lager. If you're looking for a unique beer, avoid it, but if you want a refreshing beer, it works.

The smell of Landshark is good, in spite of being in a clear bottle, I've had imports that smell like a family of skunks died in the bottle, this one is good, and the taste is decent too. If you want a reasonably priced beer that is better than your average mass produced lager, this beer will fit the bill.

In the grand scheme of things Landshark is available all year round but should primarily be drank in the summer. It can be quite refreshing on a hot summer day. Better than Corona since you don't need to add a lime to it. Originally had on tap in Key West in Margaritaville, but better out of a bottle.

12 onz of beer in clear bottle.

Appearance: Pale yellow color with some white head.

Smells like corn and cooked veggies

Taste; some sweetness, grains and corn, some carbonation in there.(soda-like)

Mouthfeel : Very light body for this beer.

Notes: You have to give some credit to this beer for being brewed to the restaurant. FOr a big chains rest. with their own beer, nice.

Bottle pours a clear and sparkling, pale yellow body that is topped by a minuscle vanilla head. Aroma is stunted, with light notes of corn and a weak suggestion of vague hops. Light body is watery and heavily carbonated. Taste is unremarkable. Some adjunct sweetness and a balancing bitterness that is remotely suggestive of spicy hops. Nothing offensive here but as for an island lager give me a fresh Carib and some conch fritters.

A great and easy drinking beer in the summer and dreams of hot weather in the fall and winter. It is a lot fresher then most Mexico beers. I love it. I don't care who makes the beer and that should not matter. It comes in 6 packs and 12 pack bottles. I wish it came in cans.

Pours a straw yellow color with little or no head.

Smells sweet with a hint of corn and fruit!

A decent macro lager taste. Corn and fruit of some sort.

Very watery in mouth with a high carbonation.

Would only drink if I was eating spicy food or having a tropical themed party.

I had low expectations with this one, especially given the sickly pale look of it. At least I wasn't disappointed.

The color is, as previously stated, a sickly pale yellow. A less than sturdy little off-white head sits on top and leaves a fizzy head of foam after less than a minute, and no lacing is left on the glass.
The aroma is like corn flakes with an artificial and unpleasant corny sweetness to it. There's not much else, although I may detect a light note of yeast and the typical vegetable funk, though lighter than in many macros.
The taste follows suit, and the corn sweetness mixes with a chemical cleaner flavor that shouldn't be in anything consumed by man. There is a light note of citrus.
This is incredibly thin, but, like most of its style, is crisp. As long as it's cold, I could see it being refreshing for someone who could tolerate the taste. Carbonation is moderate.

Well now, not only locally brewed (even if it is the local AB brewery) but associated with Jimmy Buffett? Gotta try it. Might go with my cheeseburger in paradise....

Looks...a lot like Corona. Same color, same clear bottle, same ever so slightly syrupy look. This was just brewed up the road a bit. There's no way in hell it should be skunked...but is sure smells like it. What have they done to it in the half hour it took to get it here?

Tastes no better. Corn husk sweetness, that's pretty much it. I keep looking for a hop in here, but I find it not....

Been to Jimmy's restaurant, and the food there's pretty good. I really expected something better to go with it.

My bottle, procured in small-town Washington state, says "Margaritaville Brewing Co., St. Louis, MO." Are they contracting its western production to AB? Ah, I see that their website pretty much shows that they are owned by the big boys from the Gateway to the West...

This beer pours a clear pale straw colour, with two fingers of foamy, sudsy white head, which leaves some sparse random lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of mildly skunky corn grain. The taste is more soft corn grain, some hollow citrus, and a bit of acrid, skunky hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight, slick, and somewhat cloying, and it finishes with a echo of citrus and slightly boozy corn, almost like cheap bourbon.

This is definitely a step up from the usual skunkfests from Mexico and the Caribbean, but when you're looking up from the bottom rung, there's still a long way to go 'til daylight...

Had this one straight out the bottle with a nice lil wedge of lime. Bottle pretty much sums the brew up, premium quality island style lager. Yea I said it premium, for an and style that is. Its like a corona that has not been watered down and no acidly weird tart taste upon the finish. One plus is I admire the grainy taste that it leaves on the pallet. Easy and smooth drinking, perfect for hot weather. A good amount of this jacksonville native brew can be drank without the dehydrated crash after hammering 6 of these down. All and all I recommend and will continue to buy this great interpretation of a mexican brew. Because honestly its better then the coronas and modelos. It doesn't have the watery feel of, pardon my opinion but the feeling of only having corn and rice and god knows whatever other adjuncts they use. This one actually taste more like barley then maize. Aha.

Landshark Lager

A- Bright clear yellow with a soapy white head. Quick dissipation and no lacing.
S- Very sweet corn, grain, sugary malt.
T- Slight sweet honey touched grain. Corn and rice adjunct sweetness with a dry grassy finish.
M- Very light and watery. Too watery.

Overall- Very little flavor.
I guess this is the "blue collar" Corona?!

Pours that slightly dehydrate urine color like Corona. Translucent with a ton of visible carb. Thick 2 1/2 finger foamy white head with medium retention and solid lacing.

Sour malt on the nose. Smells a little like vomit after a keg stand and a frat party.

Tastes like a standard, boring and typical embarrassment to beer like other adjunct American lagers. No real flavor to speak of. Maybe watered down pale malt.

Light bodied mouth with high carb.

Overall I think it's creative calling this an island lager, because the only time you might want to drink this flavorless embarrassment is if you were stranded on an island for months without water and a fire had ignited in your mouth that needed extinguishing.

12 0z clear bottle w/ pry-off cap poured into a Sam Adams boston lager 16 oz glass (Sorry SA)

"Oringinal island lager" but it's hard to take a beer seriously when it comes in a clear bottle, corona comes to mind, lets see...
classic golden yellow, big, quick carbonation easily creates an initial two-finger, all-white frothy, bubbly head that is very active. The retention is actually pretty good.
The aroma is minimal but what i do detect is sour yeast with wheat and grains, herbal corn and rice, slightly sweet bready malt and some minor citric whiff's.
The flavor is a bit surprising considering the nose was nothing to write home about. The malt is much more sweeter and smooththan I had suspected, it's like a cream 'o corn style malt and surprisingly clean with a mild lemmon/citrus edge that smooths out and becomes wheaty and very herbal. Finishes sweet and earthy without the dreaded metallic-sour aftertaste many of the macro lagers can deliver. A light body for sure and a bit thin and way to fizzy. The overall quality is a bit higher than i imagined and is a big step up from corona i think. not a bad brew to pass out on poker night.

Pours a clear very light yellow with a smallish white head and no lacing. The smell is weak with some lemon and floral hints. The taste is light with lemon, lime, weak hops, and some earthy floral flavors. Not impressive. The m/f is light with the few flavors mixing Ok. Let's face it, this is a Spring Break get loaded beer in Key West. Not horrible, but not the best summer beer.

A - This clear golden brew comes in a glass bottle that could cause serious skunkage, and throws up a fizzy and short lived bone white head. No real lace to speak of, but head retention is slightly better than other pale lagers.

S - Corn tortillas with salt. Cornbread malt profile with a very light peppery hop note. This does a better job approximating a real pilsener than some other macro "pilseners," but it still smells like loads of adjucts.

T - Biscuity and peppery. Very much in the vein of a lighter German pils. I'm really surprised by how different this is from what I was expecting. I thought that this would be another Mexican, Bahamian, macro beach beer but this shows a bit more character than others. It's still pretty light and corny, but it does have some saaz hop characteristics and a nice firm bicsuity malt backbone.

M - Light bodied and highly carbonated. The finish is pretty sweet, and that kills the whole German pils vibe that this beer almost has going for it.

D - This is a step above typical beach party clear golden lagers, but it's really nothing special. I would gladly drink a few of these Corona killers on a scorching day at the beach, but I probably wouldn't buy this intentionally. This sample was kindly provided to me by the husband of a lady that I work with...I have a reputation at work as "the beer guy," and he graciously sent one of these to work with his wife for me to try (at home of course).

Pours a pale golden yellow with 1/2" of dense, foamy head that has good retention. The nose is sweet and grainy with faint grassy hops. The taste is sweet and corny with some faint pilsner malt and and faint grassy hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with decent carbonation.

This is a pretty decent beer for the style. There aren't any off flavors, but it is a little sweet. I'd drink this again.
