12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a near clear, dark orange-amber body with a bubbly, frothy, off-white head.

Smell: Certainly smells of raspberries with some roundabout bread-based malt hints lurking in the back.

Taste: And, what do you know, it does indeed taste of sweet raspberries. Secondary to this is the bready, toasty malted barley and wheat character. No real hop character or bitterness. Pretty much, it's the raspberries, of that there is no mistake. Drying finishes with final tastes of bread and good ole, wholesome raspberries.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Some smoothness to the mouthfeel.

Drinkability: Smooth, easy drinking with the full taste of raspberries. Yep, it's a fruit beer alright.

I had this back in Feb. while visiting my mom in Lakeland, pours a kight amber color with almost no head, rasberry puree aroma is pretty strong.Taste is of rasberry puree and very sweet probably too sweet, there is a subtle dryeness in the finish but not much. Not that great of a beer but I wasnt expecting much either.

Apart from a lack of head retention and some limited lacing, the Hurricane Reef Raspberry Wheat is a pretty nice looking glass of beer. It's a crystal-clear golden amber, and some tiny bubbles can be seen rising steadily through the glass.

The aroma offers some fruit-pulpy raspberry, and it seems natural although the label states that it's "pure natural raspberry flavoring".

In the mouth it's medium-full in body and softly carbonated. A little more zest might help to bring it out, but as it is it seems a bit dull.

The flavor displays juicy raspberry flavor amidst a wheat-based maltiness that's just sweet enough without becoming cloying; and backed by - and/or - peppered with spicy and leafy hops.

As for drinkability, I found it rounded but not really balanced - although as a fruit beer I guess that's acceptable. It's OK, but I'm not sure it's worth having more than one.

Thanks goes out to Jredner for this one.

Pours a nice dark golden amber color, nice carbonation, nice small creamy tan head, some nice sticky lacing follows. The nose is sweet, malty, nice touch of raspberry, and some caramel. The taste is sweet/malty, some raspberry and caramel. Medium body. Drinkable, I like this one, pretty tasty.

Found at King's Supermarket in Kissimmee, FL. Pours an amber-rose color with a thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. Aroma is all raspberry. Flavor is very dry and the raspberry is almost overwhelming, along with the fizzyness. This needs malt or something to calm it down, as it tasted to me like a raspberry seltzer water. Finish was actually pretty smooth but I could do without having this again.

Brought this bottle back from Miami and wish I wouldn'ta wasted the jet fuel on it. Poured a light head and no lace. Medium amber color with some red highlights. Aroma is SMACK ME DOWN raspberry extract. Flavor is dry raspberry extract. Couldn't finish it. Yucky medicine aftertaste. Not Florida's finest beer.

"Wheat ale brewed and flavored wth natural raspberry flavoring." Made me wonder how the brewery could make "natural raspberry flavoring" taste so unnatural. Aroma was a candy-like raspberry - of the Jolly Rancher variety. Light body without any particular wheat characteristics - the only real flavor was the raspberry, which, again, had an artificial extract aspect. Poorly executed.

Best By 08 19 2008 etched on neck of bottle. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The aroma is just a hint of wheat, and raspberry flavoring. The taste is an odd mixture of flavors, with some raspberry flavoring. It really does not taste like a beer, with really no malt or wheat flavors and a pretty offensive aftertaste. Overall, I am not a huge fan of this beers. Fruit flavors in beer can be good if it is done right, this beer just doesn't do much for me.

Updated label with a puddle jumper and palm tree blowin' in the breeze.

Pours out with a calm clear orange amber hue topped with a hair thin khaki collar containing a few scant bubbles rising.

Light aroma of berry with a hint of wheat aspect in the background.

First swigs: Benign light sugary berry with an easy body. Crisp and clean. Smooth finish. Nothing exciting here. Just a light berry ale that has no surprises. I was in the mood for some Florida beers while in Florida. Eh! These would go back all day in the sun.

Hurricane Reef Raspberry Wheat pours a reddish copper with a white head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. It smells like raspberry Jello. Kind of tastes like it too, it's not particularly sweet though. I had hoped for a nice creamy wheat flavor to balance this out. It's not there. Just not my thing.

This was a real letdown. I thought maybe this would be a nice middle of the day drink in the hot Florida sun but it was just so bad. No real beer characteristics and nothing resembling wheat at all. Just raspberry syrup. Overly artificially tasting raspberry syrup dominates the palate along with some fizzy carbonation. Finish is sick! This beer looked bad, smelled bad, and taste worse. Be smart and just get a raspberry margarita slushy instead.

Pours a dull copper color with a thin cap of head and a healthy quantity of visible carbonation. Nose is kid cereal sugary raspberry with an underlining base of wheat.

Raspberry is also evident in the taste but here it is brassier and less appealing. Texture is fairly bland but not bad. This is a drinkable fruit beer but nothing special.

Pours a clear filtered amber color with a thin lacing of head. I handwash all my beerware, so I guess there's just no head. A couple little floaties meandering through the beer. Hmmm.
Aroma is immediately raspberry sweet, with a decent malt background. I think they used more barley in this than wheat. No hops at all.
Flavor is mostly raspberry and some malt, with the wheat more apparent. Sugary sweet up front, with a slightly sour dry finish. Effervescent. A touch of clove and light white grape flavors. Not much, though. I think the beer may have been a little old, but it's tough to tell over the raspberry flavor.

Poured into a dogfish signature snifter.

A- Pours a dark copper color with an 1/8 inch white head that finalizes as a paper-thin surface ring and splotchy bubble formation in the middle. Lacing's not bad

S- I could smell the raspberry emanating from the bottle when it was inches away from my face and now there are blasts of it coming from the glass. Has that cough syrup kind of artificiality to it. Jeez, it just doesn't let up. Almost like a lambic which actually could be something good if they pull it off right.

T- And whaddya know? Not as bad as the overall BA score would have you believe! Yeah the aroma may be a bit overbearing, but the flavor is more subdued and you actually have some wheat going on. Not to say the raspberry isn't any less apparent but that's not all there is. Not much hops or malt, but a nice balance of crisp, refreshing wheat flavor that complements the sweet, juicy raspberry. Tastes like juicy fruit, starburst and other tropical fruit flavored candies but isn't like sinking your teeth into high fructose corn syrup.

M- Low-medium carbonation that actually could be hiked up a bit to give it that full framboise feel like the bottleneck label implies, but it does a decent job.

O- This beer scores high on the "Beer for the Ladies" chart.

Pours an orange marmalade color... kinda like an IPA.
Smells raspberry sweet; reasonabely inviting if you like that sort of thing.
The taste is that of a fruity sweet wine cooler, but perhaps done a bit more tastefully or elegantly; not quite as cloying or watery as a wine cooler, though not tremendously far away.
Mouthfeel is bubbly, but with a harsh bitterness at the end, taking it down a notch or two.
This is pretty drinkable; the sweetness could get to be a bit much but this can be pretty satisfying in the right circumstances.

Not good, not completely undrinkable...but by far the worst fruit beer I have had to date. The first few I poured out of the bottle into my glass were nearly undrinkable. The next few, I figured what the hell and just drank them out of the bottle, and they actually tasted better. Go figure. I had to dump 2 bottles just because I couldnt handle it anymore.

The appearance is decent...an amber color with a reddish glow and a thin white head. The nose has some raspberry to it, but it doesn't smell fresh and has an odd acidity to it. Fruity sweetness does not balance well with the malty wheat flavors. Very little hops to be found. Its as if someone mixed a lambic with a poorly done German wheat beer. An oily film was left in my mouth after drinking this. This was pretty unimpressive. I could drink it again, but I don't want to.

Big raspberry aroma drowns out everything else, but there is the impression of malted wheat int here. Poured nice. Tea colored with a thick head that stuck around. Watery tasting, very watery. What flavor you get is in the finish and while it is raspberry infused it is also cloying and artificial and the wheat side of it never shows up.

Looked innocent enough, reddish, yellow golden color. Thin head. Nothing really to note on the nose, some fruit, some hops and florals. Then the taste, ugh. Awful, stale, fruity cool-ad like, then some fuzziness that you can't get off your tongue. I couldn't finish it. Call a grand jury, hand out the indicments, the brewers of this stuff have committed a crime. Maybe I just had a skunked bottle, but I am not going to give it another try.

Amber color with a nice off-white head that does fade away. Aroma is pretty much all raspberry with some malt. Pretty straight forward flavors here for what it is, a wheat beer brewed with raspberry. Raspberry flavor, malt and finishes off with some spicy hoppiness. Not a bad beer, it's drinkable and I can't say that for some other fruit beers I've had.

This beer poured an orange-amber color with a small white head that managed to hang around a while. The aroma was definitely of raspberries and little else. The taste was sweet raspberries as well. Had a very smooth mouthfeel that made this one easy to drink even though it was nothing spectacular. Probably a decent thirst quencher on a hot day.

Pour and smell - Poured amber out of the bottle, little foam or lacing as a drank it. Smelled like Flinstones candy, the purple ones I think.
Taste and Mouthfeel - tasted to sweet, I like lambics, and most US candy beers, but this tasted like the candy vitamin dissolved 80% with a bit of chunks floating around. Mouthfeel was to sweet and an off tasting finish.
Drinkability - there are better rasberry beers out there, Marin BrewCo has one of the best, this is not that.

12 oz. bottle into Duvel tulip.

$8.99

S: Touch of raspberry, a bit of wheat and malt. Pretty weak.

A: Hazy amber to red body, with a small loose head that quickly dissipates

T: Tart raspberry . . . in a wheat beer. Not my thing. No noticeable -OH.

M: Light body, with medium carbonation.

D: It is light, and "cheap", but the tartness wears. A novelty but not a good session beer.

O: Meh.

Pours a super clear golden orange. A thin white ring rests on top with some bubbles from below.
Bready, rasberry aroma.
Tasty, but somewhat one dimmensional. Kindof a dirty rasberry flavor.
Light to medium bodied and well carbonated. Flavor grabs the palate, but not the least bit cloying.
Best yet from FL, unfortunately my wife is drinking mine right up.

extra from heatwave33, cheers for giving me something I've definitely never had before.

A: Light orangish-red sunset hard candy colors that immediately makes me think of orange jolly ranchers. Some thin white foams with a diminishing opacity, giving it almost a gradient of transparency. Not much of anything in terms of head or lacing.

S: smell is a light musking of very soft raspberry. It makes me think of yellow raspberries due to the lightness of the nose. There's a malty sweetness in the back behind the raspberries that definitely makes me think this was either syrup added or juices rather than berries.

T: Taste isn't terrible, but I'd say it comes off more artificial watermelon in flavor due to a lack of definitive flavor transitions. The watery lightness of the brew especially makes me think of all the extra water in watermelon. I'm pretty sure they could market this as a watermelon wheat and no one would question it, unless they smelled it I guess (haha).

M: Light bodied, but not a terrible feel for the style. The carbonation is well balanced with a semi-spritzer like feel that allows the flavor to explore more subtle fruit flavor dimensions, but ultimately the flavor is so light that it ends up making the body seem disproportionately more refined than the flavor.

O: Can't say it's a let down, I've come to know that wheat + fruit beer usually makes for a beer that would have to be done amazingly in order to get me to take notice. This is just as bland or as boring as others in style, but that said the flavor really isn't half bad. This would pair nicely with a watermelon, and not a bowl of raspberries (you'd feel cheated).

Golden-amber, low carbonation and hardly any head. Aroma is overwhelmingly raspberry, it smells more like a milk shake than a beer - though not an unpleasant aroma by any means. Quite thin on the palate, the aroma is far bigger than the flavour. Not bitter, but dry-tasting; little aftertaste, little malt character, and slightly nondescript. This beer doesn't reach out and smack me in the tastebuds by any means, but is pleasant enough.
