Poured from a 12 oz bottle into my parents Outback bowl beer glass.

Pours light copper with inch of slow declining white foam. Some lacing. Kind of a funky smell for a lager, hard to place. Taste is very light with a german pils bitter hanging out in the background. Some citrus.

Overall average taste, relatively clean. Unremarkable, but very good for a hot FL day.

12oz bottle poured into pilsner glass - thanks to BastionShaw

Pours a clear golden color with a thick crop of white head. Thin layer of film retains well, leaving patches and spots of lacing on the glass.

Toasted grain, lemon peel, and faint citrus. Some notes of cereal and corn.

Toasted notes up front with corn and cereal. Grainy with some lemon peel tones and faint citrus juice. Familiar smack of adjunct flavor towards the finish.

Lighter medium body, decent carbonation, lingering and dry on the tongue. A pretty standard adjunct beer, although better than some of the mainstream options.

Picked up a bottle at a Brevard County Manatees minor league game. Poured from a bottle into a plastic cup (no glass, of course), the beer has aromas of tnagy honey/mead and sark roasted oats. Color is a hazy, pale, lackluster yellow-gold. The beer has a very watery flavor, and th carbonation gives it a very sharp feel. Flavors are light toasty, sour-ish malt, and some light green/piney characteristics. Almost syrupy sweet aftertaste, but still watery. Finish is a little toasty and stale. Not my favorite, but it by far beats the BMC alternatives.

A - A crystal clear deep straw golden brew with slow visible carbonation. Head disappears to only a thin layer as soon as it is poured. A decent sized ring form of thin lace forms around the time.

S - Smells like hay, corn (I hope it is corn free), sweet light malt and clean aroma.

T - Tastes like corn upfront. This transitions into a bit of hay and sweet light malt with a bit of pepper and a touch of jasmine. Aftertaste is a little grassy bitterness and lingering sweet breadiness. It isn't bad, but it is too sweet.

M - Thick, but carbonation makes it harsh. Pretty refreshing, but astringent to the tip of the tongue.

D - Okay. It is really to sweet to be a sessionable lager. It lack the classic peppery pilsner bite to please most lager fans. I know it is not *supposed* to have that, but its absence just seems off - especially since that bite appears slightly, but is overshadowed by the sweetness. It would be a bit better if it wasn't so sweet.

Received from beer of month club.

A- Pours s golden yellow, with minimal head. Looks like an average lager.

S- Has a slight hop aroma, better than any macro.

T- A clean lager taste. Very crisp - not to bitter not too sweet.

M/D- Easy drinking, good for warm days. Actually tasted pretty good as it warmed up. Won't go out of my way for it, but would drink it if in the Florida heat.

pours a clear golden color with a one finger head that faded to a ring around the glass with a light wispy lace. faint corn and husk aromas match the taste. slightly sweet malt, weak corn taste mouthfeel light like the rest of the beer. easy to drink if real cold on a hot day otherwise don't waste your money.

Poured into a standard Pilsener glass. A nice yellow color with a small head which dissipated quickly or should that be quickly dissipated, I forget. Smell was good like a lager. Flavor was even better than most lagers. Smell was lagery and malty. Mouthfeel was not exceptional but the finish wasn't watery, but rather clean and smooth. A very drinkable lager. I would recommend this brew to my friends if I had any.

Recieved this beer as part of the beer of the month club. Pours a pale yellow color, similar to that of BMC. One finger of head which settled into a thin layer. Could not pick up anything in the smell. The taste was kind of bland, but the aftertaste had a little bit of hop bitterness. A smooth drinking lager, though I probably wouldn't buy them again.

From the BOTM Club

Appearance - Pours a light golden color with about an inch of white fluffy head that dissipates within a minute. Leaves decent lacing on the sides.

Smell - Very malty - I know this sounds bad but the first initial reaction I get when smelling this is that it is reminiscent of Bud Light.

Taste - Somewhat bitter at first followed by sweetness/malt. I can taste a some hops in there also.

Mouthfeel - Pretty fizzy, light bodied, but honestly fits what this beer is trying to accomplish.

Drinkability - Honestly, pretty drinkable. I just got done unloading some stuff from my car in the 90+ degree heat and then popped this open to finally try it. I wasn't looking for anything complex or knock my socks off great - just a cold beer better than a BMC and honestly, it isn't half bad for what it is. Not that I would go searching for this but this is pretty quaffable if you're thirsty.

12oz. bottle served in a pilsener glass. Freshness dating not indicated on the bottle. Poured a translucent orange-gold with a one-inch, off-white head that quickly receded into a thin, consistent skim with strands of lacing revealed as the brew receded. Lots of tiny bubbles adhered to the sides of the glass during the session. Nose is malty sweet with a hint of corn. Taste was a little malty and sweet upfront; however, middle is a little coppery and finish is cereal grains and corn. Mouthfeel is light-bodied and lively; finishes dry and fairly clean. Not bad for the style. Not something I would go to if it was available, but I wouldn't refuse one either.

Poured out into a standard pint. Fairly clear, deep hay/apple juice color. Small off-white head. Looks like a decent lager.

Nose is gentle hops, a slight yeasty tang, and mild fruity hints (pear?). Not too shabby.

Taste is mild but malt liquor-esque. Metal, old hops, alcohol. big let down. Gets worse with warming.

Average mouthfeel and drinkability.

BOM August 2009
Poured into a pint glass this brew has a pale yellow color that is completely transparent with a clean white head that was fluffy with an aggressive pour. There was no lacing and the head did not last. The aroma was very light, some hints of citrus and mild yeastiness. The taste is extremely light, but better than the macros. Thin mouthfeel, some malt in the front and a light citrus hop finish. Could drink quite a few of these on a hot day (maybe in the Keys) but up in WI not likely.

Came with the Beer of the Month Club. Poured a gold/yellow color with a 1/2 inch white head that smells of lemon, malt and yeast.

Very light carbonation (almost none), crisp with a taste of citrus, malt, hops and a slight sweetness to it; has a dry malty finish. Not a lot of flavor, but still enough there in the taste department to separate this from a dull beer and make it a very enjoyable and drinkable beer.

The Key West Golden Lager was one of the beers I got in my last beer of the month club shipments. I was curious about this one, as most of the beers I have gotten have been IPAs, Witbiers or Stouts. So, getting a lighter beer was a surprising change. As I can imagine, this beer does well in Florida, where it's hot and everyone sweats all their fluids out due to the humidity.

This beer was good - I had just gotten home from the gym and was really hot and wanted to play a video game. As everyone knows, video games are much better with beer. The Golden Lager was really refreshing and crisp. Unfortunately, I think it lacked a lot of distinctive characteristics, be it flavor, scent, etc... - it was a much better form of a Miller or Budweiser type beer. Personally would probably not get it again, just cause it was ok...

Look - 3.0/5.0 - Really light, golden color - clear - head retains pretty well, light white head
Taste - 3.0/5.0 - cold, sour bitter malt/hop; clean, little aftertaste, some sweetness too
Smell - 3.0/5.0 - sharp ale scent, malty, hint of sour
Feel - 3.5/5.0 - nice no aftertaste, fresh, most of the flavor in middle back of tongue
Drinkability - 3.0/5.0 - refreshing, specially after a workout - not a lot going on with it - good for someone who likes lighter beers but doesn't want Miller or Bud

part of the beer of the month club shipment. booyah!

radiant glowing yellow-orange color in the beer, a fizzy head comes down quick and laces a bit.

grainy aroma, corn and wheat. slightly yeasty and just a slight kick of hops in there as well.

very sweet balanced flavor. the initial flavor is slightly bitter, but quickly fades into a slightly malty one. finishes yeasty and a little bitter. the grains maintain through the experience, accompanied by the sneaky sweetness.

creamy, full mouthfeel. slightly fizzy on the tongue.

not too bad for the style. sweet and just enough bitter hops to sustain you and balance out the grainy aspects.
