Pours a crystal-clear amber in color, with a huge head of off-white bubbles. Big. loopy lace.
Aroma is potent, herbal, oily hops. I get citrus, pine, and tropical fruit notes. Very very nice.
Taste is more strong hops -- big assault of oily, acidic hop goodness, but it's all tempered by a substantial malt profile. The big 10% ABV isn't immediately noticeable, though the body here does seem heavy. The finish concludes with a lingering hops bitterness.
This is a tasty, balanced (despite the big hops bite), and deceptively drinkable imperial IPA.

Taste is lacking, kind of funky. I love funky beers normally, but this one is just OK.

My good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had booz and hints of citrus. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with booz and bitter citrus on the back end. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

From a beer of the month club. Poured a yellow-amber color with a a bit of fluffy white foam at the top. Scent is quite hoppy, with acidic citric scents and some pine. Tasting notes say caramel should be present, which can be identified once pointed out. Taste follows with a strong hop profile, a strong amount of bitterness, and a slight amount of booziness (no doubt from the 10% ABV). A bitter and smokey (?!) finish lingers long after the sip. Not exactly in my preferred flavor profile, but I can imagine this would be quite enjoyable for someone who enjoyed a more bitter, hoppy beverage.

More old-school West Coast DIPA, Piney and very bitter up front. Not much aroma. Taste follows the nose, pretty nice full mouth-feel. Bitter aftertaste and the alcohol is pronounced and expected. Nicely balanced IMO. Not sure where the very negative reviews come from, perhaps the DIPA DDH NE Milkshake IPA crowd?
