Copper to amber colored with a quarter inch of creamy brown foam on top. Dense, soapy lacing is present. The aroma is of bready malt and caramel. I’m tasting caramel and bready malt. The mouth is smooth and creamy.

Look: Slightly hazy amber. Half a finger of creamy white head with excellent retention.
Smell: Bright, doughy malt. Apples and sweet citrus.
Taste: Bready, slightly sweet malt with a dryness reminiscent of diet soda. No noticeable hop flavor. Metallic, coppery aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Full body with nice carbonation.
Overall: What could be a great beer is let down by a weak flavor.

Definitely a good red Scotch ale. Not over powering nor underwhelming. Its similar to the dragon scale ale also offered at Universal but does have that slight touch of hoppyness as the dragon scale does. Granted you can only get the Hogs Head ale at the 3 broomsticks @ Islands of Adventure. Dragon s CV aka you can get at Universal and Islands of Adventure

How do people give this (or any beers from universal) anything higher than a 3? Had on tap at the hog's head pub. Poured clear amber with slight lacing. Not much going on smell-wise. Tastes like significant biscuit malts with malt extract. Lack of body, when foreigners diss american beer as being "flavored water", this is what they mean. Overall, not as bad as the wizard's brew porter but not something I'd get again.
