Slight chocolate and coffee aroma. Fairly smooth, almost too smooth, not much carbonation. Not a lot going on until the finish which is a little bit too cloying and thick. Most of the flavour is in the finish with the alcohol and sweetness dominating.

Very decent for style, bang on though highly carbonated.Bottle from Gatineau. Served at just under room temperature in an Ithaca Excelsior! glass.Pours medium brown with initial great head, retained a head of about one quarter of an inch, plus some lace droplets. Aroma is yeasty. Moutheel is slightly above average but carbonation slightly in the way. Good but not great drinkbility. Still solid and nice for first beer in 9 days.

Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color bock with a large frothy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar and light banana bread is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a good mix between a solid malt backbone with notes banana bread and caramelized sugar with light warming notes of alcohol. Body is full with good carbonation and some alcohol was noticeable. Well brewed though more banana ester and less alcohol could have improved this beer.

A:
Pours an opaque-ish ruddy brown with 2.5 fingers of fizzy tan head that drops to a patchy film. Okay rentention; little to no lacing. (3.5)

S:
Sweet and bready. Chocolate, nuts, dark fruits, toast, butter toffee. (3.75)

T:
Toasted sugar cane. Dark bread, vanilla/banana smoothness, cherries, brandy, wood, nuts. (3.5)

M:
Creamy velvet with medium-full body and tons of teensy bubbles, booze well-hidden. (3.75)

O:
Good take on a Weizenbock.
This is a nice-tasting beer that shares characteristics with more text-book bocks, but that is also a little different.
It isn't much to look at in the glass. The nose is warm and yeasty with a little astringent woodiness. The flavor is rich-ish and full-ish with some thin sweetness mixed with more robust sweet malt layers underneath. Drinks all right, but a mollower taste/palate would make it more drinkable in my opinion.
This beer lacked the sharp alcohol and intense carbonation presence I have noticed in some of their other bigger beers. It was a bit old and I suspect that may have played a role, but I can't say for sure.
Might have again; worth a shot if you come across it. (3.75)
