12oz bottle served in a pint glass
Bright clear orange gold in the glass with a one finger rocky head that settles to a layer of large and small bubbles and laces nicely. The smell is of caramel, bread malts and buttered biscuits. Hop aroma is faint but noticeable as a touch of floral and citrus hop come through. The taste is first of the biscuity malt, caramel malts are also in the profile. The hops are much more prevalent in the taste than they are in the smell, the bitterness is pretty solid and hop flavors are mainly of the citrus variety but maybe a bit more restrained than a typical APA, The finish of this beer is a bit sweet, and that is combined with a lingering bitterness. Carbonation is pretty high and the body is light to medium. Overall this is a pretty good beer. An interesting take on the pale ale style sort of a blend of the english and american versions drawing on the best characteristics of both, a nice malt backbone with a bit more hop kick than you'd typically get in the english version.
