Served on cask at the Moan and Dove (Amherst, MA) in my customized 32 oz. mug.
Appearance: A bright copper color, with one volcanic eruption of a head. The bartender and I determined that the full mug, leaking profusely over the lip, looked like one of those frothy mugs you see at Moe's in "The Simpsons."
Smell: Huge hop aroma, with earthy tones and a subtle citrus spice.
Taste: Expected it to be hoppier based on the smell (like a West Coast big hop brew) but definitely not... some malty grit that becomes really smooth.
Mouthfeel: A cask brew, so flat and placid. But not in a bad way.
Drinkability: Absolutely. A solid session offering.

A: Clear; almost the color of honey. Thin head; dissipated quickly, leaving a thin ring; no lacing.
S: Grassy; not over powering. A little earthy as it warmed.
T: Slight caramel up front. Got a little grass and earthiness ; medium bitter dry finish with a little malt sweetness in the background.
M: Medium-light body. Carbonation is a little high.
Drinkable, but not something I'd go out of my way for.

Mayflower Brewing Company - Mayflower Pale Ale, poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Look - Pours a clear amber with a small foamy head that retains some. Decent lacing.
Smell - Aroma is decidedly English hops with malt back behind, somewhat subdued.
Taste - Taste is akin to an American pilsner or lager like Bud, but the hops are more noticeable.
Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp and drinkable. Dry earthy bitter hops linger faintly.
Overall - This isn't my favorite pale ale, but I would recommend it as a hoppier alternative to a light American lager.
