Mayflower Brewing Company - Mayflower IPA, poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Look - Pours a clear filtered copper amber with a good sized soapy head that retains well. Abundant lacing.
Smell - English hops with a balanced malt backbone. Fruity and floral, sort of a hybrid between classic English IPA and American IPA going on here.
Taste - Rich malty with a nice fruity floral and pine hop mix. Not overly bitter. Does well here.
Mouthfeel - Full-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very balanced, rests a mix of hops but not overly muddled. Really good drinkability.
Overall - Probably one of my favorite English IPAs (even though it's a hybrid AIPA), I typically can't stand the style but this one is well done in my opinion.

Into a pint glass.
A: somewhat hazy golden orange colored body that shows a nice deal of transparency, one finger white foamy head that rises a bit and then falls leaving a nice deal of foamy white lacing sticking to the sides of the glass
S: malty, earthy and grassy with a decent backing of citrus (seems almost like a mellow EIPA)
T: sweet and earthy through the citrus and malts combining to end up showcasing a sweet malty aftertaste that leads to a dry finish
M: sits about a medium on the body, but not as sessionable as I had hoped for, carbonation comes across fairly odd, but not so much in a bad, as its not harsh nor is it smooth, hmmm....ok, no worries
O: for the most part, its not a bad AIPA, just seems a bit different to me perhaps closer to an EIPA with an added earthy and grassy sort of quality to enhance the beer. There wasn't a date anywhere so, for the most part, I really don't know. If given the chance, I'd seek on tap
