Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #51 (April 2011):

Head pops up pretty quick, not gushing, but four fingers high and took forever to drop down. Pale amber glow has a good clarity. Soft resin-like mint, spice and some citric ... an aroma takeover. Mild level of carbonation, smooth and a bit slick within the medium body. Hops slap down a thick oily flavor of spice, citric and mint ... bitterness is not rough, just firm. Yeah, there is malt there, but it struggles to poke through the thick blanket of hop flavor. Kiss of alcohol and exotic fruit in the semisweet finish ... there is the malt waiting for us in the end. Good drinking and an easy way to get your hop fix.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

Appearance: Pours a glowing, cloudy orange with lots of yeasty particles floating around in there. Big two-finger white head. Pretty heavy lacing and carbonation.

Aroma: Nice aromas of pine, grass, apricot and citrus.

Taste: The taste follows the nose, and packs more punch. Pine and apricot lead the way. Nice crisp finish. A fine IPA.

Mouthfeel: Perfect depth.

Overall: Another winner from Mayflower. This is a terrific IPA at a reasonable price. It hits all the right notes, with delicious hop bitterness and flavor and just enough boozy kick, without being at all overpowering. Great stuff.

Tap at tavern on the square Northborough

Nice creamy thick head 1 finger fades semi slowly Nice touch lacing, mostly clear golden honey color.

Nose nice hops, mild citrus, mostly floral grassy hops, fruity, touch of juicy fruit and orange peel, touch spicy. Hint of malt under that.

Taste brings more hops, a Canadian base hop with a bigger spicy note, little earthy and somewhat grassy too, little spicy chewy note with fair bitterness. Mild citrus and fruity note, touch orange peel. Bit of a sweet malt base, toasted malt note. Finish is dry but little sticky, fair bitterness, bit of grassy earthy hops lingering, long bitterness so if this is all they wanted to accomplish then ok but nothing much otherwise.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

I remember this being better and I could have sworn I reviewed it before. It's a decent ipa but missing the extra something, extra citrus or fruit, our even spicy hop note if that's what they want, but this is fairly generic.
