Poured into a pint glass...

A: Finger of off white head with nice lacing and long lasting head retention. Very pretty, dark copper/amber color.

S: Some citrus and pine, earthy notes. Sweet bready malts hanging out too. Smells nice.

T: Toasted caramel malts followed by a nice spicy citrus/piney hop bitterness. Nice and balanced, sweetness and bitterness work very well.

M: Medium bodied with a noticably high level of carbonaion, something I wasnt expecting. Just a bit of oily hop slickness. Good drinkability too.

O: A nice, local rendition of a spring time hoppy amber red. Its flavorful, easy drinking, and quite sessionable. Safe to say this and their Porter are my favorites from them.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a vibrant, slightly opaque, blended copper-amber coloring with a frothy, big bubbled, off-white head that settles into a filmy coating of the surface. Aromas are very well blended, with a complex malty backbone of caramel, nut, and toffee giving rise to a hoppy, floral, and resiny highlight. Flavors are hop forward, with a green and resiny hops presence overlaying a solid caramel and toasty malt backbone. There are some buttery toasted characteristics throughout, and even a buttered popcorn flavor at some points. Good, complex flavor profile. The aftertaste is mild, with a resiny and bitter blend, leading to a bitter and somewhat resiny, drying finish. Almost astringent. Decent brew, giving an interesting twist to the red style.

a purplish/amber beer produces a sizable soft off-white head that sticks around for a while and laces very nicely.

some caramel malts give way to herbal/floral/woody, citrus and grassy hops.

starts with some crackery malts with a ton of caramel and then a rush of hops come in providing some spicey, herbal, floral, citric and pine flavors. a bit toasty, but hoppy and balanced.

medium bodied a bit resiny and a bit sticky with subtle but present carbonation.

another quality, though not quite mind-blowing, Mayflower beer. They are always worth the money, and this is another example of that.

12oz Bottle, 3 weeks old.

A: Pours a clear, Deep Ruby Read, huge head with an olive tint, head, head thins out but lasts with you till the end. Leaves a "berlin wall" of lacing.

S: This is one you can smell as soon as you crack it open. Mix of rasin bread malts with juicy citrus/pine/ hops. More sweet citrusy than I remember it. Very enticing.

T: Starts of with a biscuity, lightly toasted malt sweetness, finishes with a herbal grassy pine/lime with a hint of grapefruit hop flavor. Overall a quite green/herbal/grassy flavor. Some spiceness (rye?) in there too from the malt backbone, also has a butter malt aspect towards end. Strong/interesting flavors.

M: Very Carbonated. Body is a bit thin/watery but for relatively low ABV that's not surprising. Leaves the palate dry. A beer that could hold up to an all day session and excellent to pair with food.

O: For the style this is really world class, an excellent example of NE microbrewery putting out an awesome beer in an often overlooked/under-appreciated style. A must buy for any fan of craft beer, tame enough for the masses, but well crafted in a way a true advocate can appreciate. I will make sure I buy this every spring.

12 oz bottle into my Opa-Opa Pint Glass
A - deep orange, very foamy. Settles down quickly, with some nice lacing. Not cloudy.
S- sweet resiny hops smell. Not overpowering.
T - crisp hops bitterness out front, a little sweetneess and vanilla malt follows.
M - tingly bubbles, a little bit of stickiness, but not as full as some others. Fairly light going down actually.
O - drinkable, nice beer. Not an extreme hoppy beer, compared to some I've been drinking recently, just nice balance. Extra point for local.

Had this beer at the brewery as part of the tour. Served in a sample glass from a new bottle. NIce clear amber body and an off white head. Well ramped up smells. Smell of nice citrus fruit and pine. Great resin, fruit flavor. Bitter but not a bomb. Good malt balance. Nice cereal flavor. Medium mouth feel. Great beer and I would have this again.

A: rich medium amber with a dense, easily-resuscitated khaki head. The aroma picked up bready and lesser fruity notes topped by resiny pine and earthy hoppage.

T: The flavor found bread and biscuity malts at the core, with earth and light fruity bitterness around, tacky caramel and biscuit malts plus some unidentifiable bitterness on the finish.
M: Medium-bodied, but with a thicker feel at times on the palate.

overall a decent brew.
