Pours a grapefruit ruby red with a one-finger off-white head. Solid lacing and retention. Wonderful aroma. Big grapefruit notes, orange, melon and floral hops. Nice hoppy brew. Quick bursts of sweet grapefruit and citrus hops to start. A bit of grassy hops in the middle before a semi bitter, but very dry pine hop finish. Really crisp, light flavor. Very dry. Well crafted hop forward Spring seasonal.

A - Arrived a copper color with an inch or so of head. Darker than I expected. Bubbly head lasted longer than I expected, but didn't really leave any lacing. Nice looking beer.

S - Nothing significant, but a nice mix of citrus hops and light malt.

T - Follows the nose. Basic, but really nice. The cask absolutely imparted a woody character to the beer. Lots of subtleties.

M- Medium bodied and soft. Not flat like I expected from a cask.

O - Great experience. Hard to judge based on the cask preparation. It's nice to have a beer at a bar that has carbonation and isn't freezing cold. Would buy again!

12oz bottle poured into a Dogfish Head signature glass.

A - Pours an unexpectedly dark magohony and amber mix with a strong two fingers of khacki dense foam with excellent staying power. As the head dies slowly it leaves behind an even coating of fine bubbled lace all over the glass.

S - Very fresh hop aromas up front here. Nice combination of citrus, pine, grass and spicy hops. Citrus takes the lead, but the variety of hop character is all allowed to shine thru nicely. Only a trace of breadlike malt sneaks past the hops into the aroma.

T - Hops and malt work together in the flavor with a bit more balance than the aroma. Firm hop bitterness with the sweetish caramel driven malt rides underneath it slightly. Layers of resiny hops thru the middle - I get more pine than anything else in here, but there is definitely citrus and grassy contributions too. Very good, but a bit less impressive than the aroma - which is always a bit of a disappointment for me.

M - Medium bodied with equivalent carbonation level. Feels very bright and fresh. Resiny but not quite sticky in feel. Very fresh tasting - coincidentally? makes me think of stepping outside on the first warm spring day aqnd breathing in the smells of spring.

O - This is an excellent American pale ale. This has such a great fresh character to it. Not sure how well this will hold up over time, but it certainly is very nice with only a couple weeks or less on it. This could very easily become my go to spring seasonal.

Poured into a pint glass...

A: Finger of off white head with nice lacing and long lasting head retention. Very pretty, dark copper/amber color.

S: Some citrus and pine, earthy notes. Sweet bready malts hanging out too. Smells nice.

T: Toasted caramel malts followed by a nice spicy citrus/piney hop bitterness. Nice and balanced, sweetness and bitterness work very well.

M: Medium bodied with a noticably high level of carbonaion, something I wasnt expecting. Just a bit of oily hop slickness. Good drinkability too.

O: A nice, local rendition of a spring time hoppy amber red. Its flavorful, easy drinking, and quite sessionable. Safe to say this and their Porter are my favorites from them.
