On nitrous draught at Rivertowne...
Served in a tall pint glass... deep, dark brown in color with a nitrous charged creamy head that quickly disappears. Minimal lacing with little or no retention whatsoever.
The smell of dark chocolate malt and coffee dominate the nose. The same is true for the taste with a very malty chocolate front, bitter coffee middle, and a chocolate finish that lingers on.
Rich and creamy in the mouth with a decent full body and low carbonation. This beer is very easy to drink, however the sweetness limits the amount that you would want to drink in a single sitting! This beer would be a great after dinner beer.
I enjoyed this beer and it reminded me of Rogue Chocolate Stout with a slightly thinner body and less carbonation.
Serving type: nitro-tap

A- Foggy opaque dark brown body with perfect creamy tan 1/2 finger head. Great head retention and plenty of lacing left behind in the glass.
S- Ominous dark smell of toasted chocolate malt and coffee bitterness.
T- This one is a big malt bomb with an initial flavor of heavy chocolate malt and other dark malts upfront with a bitter coffee overtone. Finish is similar to initial flavor with lots of bitter toasted malt lingering on the palate.
M- Big thick stout mouth feel. Extraordinarily smooth and creamy.
D- This is a big and heavy dark beer. Would make a decent dessert beer but is not one to drink with a meal. Good stout but a little bit too heavy for me.
