A pint glass served at the Monroeville brewpub.
A: The APA is a tad dark, a full amber brown color that is opaque. A thin white head, small even on initial serving, quickly whittles away.
S: The nose has a firm caramel malt aroma with plenty of citrusy hops. The hops aren't overwhelming but they do linger.
T: Nice hop flavor coming through, especially for a plain ol' pale ale. The citrus hops aren't shy, standing their own against the caramel malts. The bitterness doesn't linger, striking fast before sneaking away. The finish is leafy and vegetal.
M: The APA is good, full of flavor without a sharp hoppy bite.
D: I probably would have taken this one in a growler over the Old Wylie. A nice pale ale.
