Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a fairly clear darker golden color. There was a finger of frothy off-white head on it. It has a nice nose. Sweet malts, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice. The taste is also good. Malty, slightly sweet, a little heavier on the body. Pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices also, but not overpowering. Nice.

Was able to find a can of this at Carnivores in Oakmont for just $2.50! Into a pint glass

A - The ABV really makes the head on this on fizz out rather quickly. Beer color is a dark tinted orange brown clear. Looks good.
S - Ow wow very intense gram cracker and vanilla sweetness in the smell like straight up vanilla bean! Smells of mild allspice with cinnamon and nutmeg and very little vegital smell.
T - Quite good it does have a bit of pumpkin vegital in the middle to remind you its a pumpkin ale but its mostly sweet with vanilla and honey like cracker bite. Surprising balanced spices never get cloying or intense.
M - Despite its high ABV this one drinks medium bodied with a well concealed taste.

Overall next to Elysian Night Owl this is one of the better pumpkin ales I have had this year. Best to drink these fresh so I may swing buy for a few more before its gone.

Note: not sure why they charge so much for these high gravity beers at the Brewpub its quite a steal in cans since high gravity pours are 4-5 dollars at Rivertowne Pourhouse.

12oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head that leaves little lacing and retention. The aromas are incredible. Smells exactly like Pumking. It has tons of graham cracker and buttered popcorn. Lots of vanilla. Some caramel malts are there. The flavors are earthy and finish with a blast of cinnamon. More graham cracker along with fresh vanilla bean. Finishes dry, clean and slightly bitter. It's definitely not overly sweet. It ultimately smells better than it tastes, but it still tastes amazing. Mouthfeel is solid. It's medium-bodied with very active carbonation. Alcohol goes unnoticed.

This is an incredible pumpkin ale. It's almost like a Pumking clone. Rivertowne has tapped into that magic and has a serious winner here. This is one of the best pumpkin ales I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Pours a clear amber-orange with small head. Aroma of whipped cream, graham crackers and vanilla on pumpkin. Taste is sweet cream and pumpkin with vanilla and a hint of spice. Must be a Pittsburgh interpretation of the style since Penn Pumpkin Roll is similar. Not convinced cream belongs in beer, but it is definitely pleasant and very drinkable. Rather high ABV makes this a borderline Imperial pumpkin.

Light copper with hardly any appreciable head. The nose has notes of pumpkin and seasonal pie spices (particularly cinnamon). The flavor is similar to the nose but the pie spices come on strong, perhaps too strong. The finish has a sweet creaminess to it.

I don't want to sound disparaging but this is pretty much a poor man's Pumking.

A-Pours a bubbly copper with a minimal white head.
S- I'm getting a tomatoey vibe from the nose, although I thnk what it actually is is a lot of pumpkin. Very heavy on the vegetable, with some spice on the side. A sugary crust.
T- The taste comes through with the spice I was expecting in the nose. Nutmeg, hint of cinnamon. Not as spicy as I'd like a pumpkin ale to be, especially one that is 8%
M- Very smooth and drinkable considering the abv. When I cracked the can it almost seemed uncarbonated. I'm not sure if it's just this one can or every can is is this mildly carbonated. I like it though, very creamy.
O- It's good for the style, not too sweet, not too spiced. It's a great example of the style overall, it hits the pumpkin hard, which is good. At first I didn't like the smell, but after a few sips I was turned around. Careful with this one. It's easy to drink but it packs a punch!

This beer has been out since Oct 2014. The local 6 pak shop got a deal on the keg in Jan and nobody was buying it. So we had some there and filled our growlers and went back for more. Tasted as good if not better than Pumking.

Rivertowne Headless Wylie

Pours a rich gold color with white soapy head and lace.
Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon and spice. Caramel and bread are on the fringes.
In the taste, pumkin, vanilla and spice. Caramel malts and fresh pumpkin . Low bitterness with a bit of cream and vanilla. Finishes with pumpkin
Medium bodied mouthfeel with light carbonation.
Overall, this is a good imperial pumpkin ale with all due spice and sweetness.
