Atmosphere: Great beer drinking environment. A lot of other beer enthusiasts to talk with. The workers are also great company and very friendly. They also have several events every once in awhile. There is a tiki bar style seating area in the back plus an actual bar. They have live music too.

Quality: Good craft beer and they take care of their tap lines. They know how to pour good quality brews.

Service: No wait, fast, friendly. It's also a home brew supply shop and they go out of their way to help you out. They answer any and all questions that you may have always.

Selection: The taps are always good craft beer. Not that many taps in general, but what they have is always great. The beers rotate frequently also. They also offer dozens of bottled beers as well.

Very interesting place. Very small and feels dirty (even though it really isn't). Beer selection was nothing to write home about and the prices were too high. They did have a solid selection of HB supplies though. I know this place gets a lot of hype and I just don't understand why. I was expecting a grandiose home brew store with a wide variety of beer. All I got was a tiny store HB with a good selection of supplies and a subpar beer selection. Overall, not worth the one hour drive. In the future I will go to Funky Buddha for my home brew supplies.

Being part of the south FL craft beer scene, I had always heard about BX Beer Depot from other beer geeks, but living about a half hour south of their Lake Worth store made it difficult for me to stop in. I finally got a chance to pop in on the way back from West Palm Beach. I was on the way to a party and in need of a good bottle of craft beer to share. Lake Worth isn't the most well-groomed area south Florida has to offer, so I assume this location was chosen for the cheap real estate. When you walk in, you immediately notice all the homebrew equipment and ingredients. Kits, parts, hops, malts, etc all line the well-stocked shelves and it'd be hard to not find everything you're looking for here. I wanted to browse more but it was late in the evening and like I said, I needed to get to a party. They fill growlers off their taps, but the beers they had earlier listed online had already kicked and I was forced to choose a bottle. The selection was very good but it was hard to browse because a gentleman seated at the bar across from the refrigerators kept hounding me about what I was looking to buy. They're also a little pricier than Total Wine when it comes to bottles. Since it's not conveniently located for me and the Funky Buddha now has a homebrew supply shop, I don't have much reason to go back to BX Beer Depot. They do host various beer education events and also teach homebrew classes, which is a big plus.

Stopped by with my brother and a friend of mine to check the place out. The guy working there was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained to us about home brewing and the supplies we will need to get started. He also told us he holds a brewing class once a month if we wanted to stop by and check it out. Then he explained about the beer tastings they do and gave us a schedule of events. One them was with Cigar City Brewery! He had several tasty brews on tap and for sale in a couple coolers. Also had a great variety of home brewing equipment and supplies. The shop is very tiny and looks a little run down on the outside. But once you get inside it is a great place. Cheers!

I was first introduced to BX Beer Depot roughly 2 years ago. It was the first and ONLY place I have been to since I moved to Florida. I have been going back ever since for small microbrews, 5 gallon kegs, supplies, etc. The people are always super friendly and it's a great place to go, sit down and have a few beers before you make a purchase. They always seem to have an excellent selection on tap, as well as a great selection in the walk in cooler adjacent from the bar. They also have an excellent live music and party in the back every so often which I have attended.

Overall a great place to go for homebrewing needs or for microbrewed beer.

Very nice home feel inside with a few a tables made out of barrels and a small 3 seater bar inside with lots of extra room out back with a much bigger bar and tables. I started coming here last March and every time I'm greeted by name even though I can only make it up ever 2-3months.

I've always had good yeast, good grains that tasted fresh and excellent fresh beers on tap, including the occasional home brew thrown in too. Really cool and laidback monthly tastings of certain styles with comparisons of regional/local/homebrew interpretations.

The local craft brew selection is very good, I just had a Tequesta Kolsch on draft today when I stopped in to get supplies for wine, and they also had two Cigar City taps running. I would like more yeasts options but what they have is all very solid and good performers and fresh.

Also for the group brew days and tastings someone usually brings in food of some kind. Had a very nice cream stout ice cream the last tasting I made.

Horrible customer service... upon walking in I tried to make small talk and ask questions yet they gave me an attitude with each response, so I walked out. They obviously didn't want my business and in an economy like this its surprising to see there is such a lack of customer service. Look online and you'll find companies willing to go above and beyond to assist you and the prices are better too. If you're concerned about taking a class, don't. It's not that hard and is part of the adventure of homebrewing. You'll really get more knowledge from reading a book and using resources like youtube. Austinhomebrew online helped answer any questions I had. By no way do I endorse this vendor, I'm just saying that there are good companies out there and I'm sure plenty of them actually want your business and will be willing to help you. Homebrewing should be inexpensive and for some people may be the reason they do it, so go elsewhere and not only will you save money but youll also have all your questions answered professionally rather than condesendingly. Trust me, don't go here.

This place is a local gem! The staff at BX are very helpful and know their stuff about beer, wine and cheese. They have a nice selection of beer but they could add a few more coolers to provide a better selection. Bx also does a fantastic job by bringing in craft beer reps to do tastings. I recently attended a Sierra Nevada tasting at Bx it was a pleasant night with lots of good conversation and of course BEER! BX is a great spot in Lake Worth i hope they have good luck with their business in the future!

What a neat little shop. Homebrew supplies, a little bar with a few taps and a shelf/couple coolers full of great beer. If a beer store could get points for atmosphere, I would give this one a 5. Bless their hearts for setting up where they have. I went to more than a few other spots close by looking for beer, and although their selection is small, it was pretty much all fantastic (save the fact that the only lambics they had were Banana and winter geuze from Chapeau). Awesome. Thanks guys for a great experience and for being so far ahead of the curve down there. See ya next time!!

I bought my first homebrew kit from BX and while I've been able to find everything that I needed, the quality, service, and price are on the sub-par side of life.

It's the only homebrew store (that I know of in South Florida), so when you really need an extra batch of yeast, where else do you go besides overnighting from an internet retailer?

They have what you need to make a decent batch of beer, but I would not recommend due to the fact that: Smoking in a store that houses your ingredients / flammable CO2 is not necessarily what everyone is looking for, nor the dogs that randomly roam the store as well. While the dogs are nice, they dont necessarily need to be in a homebrew store.

I do enjoy the fact that they do a decent job of promoting the craft beer scene in south florida: Tiki Bar tastings in the back of the store, craft beer kegs to go, an okay bottle selection, homebrew competitions, and pour staff at local festivals: best damn brew review, jupiter craft beer fest.

It's a decent store, but not necessarily my first choice when it comes to quality and price.

I first became know of this place at the Treasure Coast Beer Festival when I met the owner at their booth. She let me and my friends know about all the different things they have going on at the store from home brewing classes and supplies to good craft selection to a beer club.

My friend and I signed up for the home brewing class and had a great time. Our instructor John was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with his teachings.

I recently went to a beer and food pairing they had there on their back patio and it was very well organized and a great time. They also had a tasting the same night of Stone Brewing beers which they will begin carrying on November 17th, 2008.

The entire staff of the place goes far beyond their bonds to help you if you have questions or want an idea of what to get.

This place is more than a beer store. They are a staple in beer culture in Palm Beach County to me. I couldn't recommend this place more.

This store is interesting in that it's essentially 3 stores in one. My thoughts, in the order that matters to me:

Homebrew supply: These folks are great! They have just about all of the homebrew ingredients you may be looking for. They also have the basic equipment and reading material you'll need to get started in home brewing and wine making. For all grain brewing equipment you'll have to look elsewhere. Their pricing is reasonable for a local homebrew store but beware, their online store pricing is not very competitive. They teach several brewing classes each month, imparting enough information to get anyone started. The BX usually has one of their class brews on tap for sampling. The next step for you is to join a homebrew club like the Palm Beach Draughtsmen where you'll get to share in all of the experience you need to brew your own really great beer.

Craft Beer Store: Go someplace else if you're into M!ller L!te. They have a good selection of craft beer. Amazing, in fact, considering the size of the shop. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There's always something new in the cooler and it's common to stop by in the evening and find a friend sampling and sharing some of the latest arrivals. Pricing is a little higher than you might find at one of those warehouses.

Keg Store: Here you'll find all the regular American Lagers in half kegs as well as a good selection of craft beer in 5 gallon kegs. Prices are competitive.

All in all the BX Beer Depot is worth a visit.

I stopped in to BX Beer Depot for just a couple of random items, which luckily they had in stock (I did not call first, probably would be a good idea in general though). It's a small freestanding store, just east of the the southeast corner of 2nd Av. North and Congress (you can see it from the intersection). The guy I was talking to was very nice and helpful. It didn't look like they had much in the place which is very small, at least until he showed me their cooler which is much bigger than probably the rest of the store combined. It looked like they had a pretty decent selection of ingredients, but not outstanding, same for equipment. They had beer on tap, with at least one homebrew. He told me they do homebrewing demonstrations, and that people were lagering their beer in his cooler. Prices weren't bad, but a few things that I can buy locally are a little cheaper (not a lot though). Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for homebrew supplies in the area.

I stopped into this place to see what was going on there with selection, they are very limited at the moment but space could be the issue as well. This is first a home brew store, they have many items for the home brewer and a pretty good site for supplies, this should be your only stop in Palm Beach county for your homebrew needs. They also have a nice little bar that serves about 10 different drafts, nothing that really caught my eye on draft. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they had a pretty good knowledge of beer in general, the person that I was talking with was very knowledgeable. They also offer beer and wine making classes which is a added plus. Overall a pretty awesome place and a good addition to Lake Worth.
