After stopping by a few places once I got into Santa Fe, and being a little disappointed, I headed over to Liquor Barn on Cerrillos. Wow! Was I glad I did. The selection of Belgians was superior to most with choices like; Westmalle, Duvel, and Cantillon. While some might be thinking these selections are run of the mill, wait until you see the prices. Liquor Barn somehow offers fine brews for dollars (not cents) off the sales price of other shops. For example, Stone Ruination IPA...$5.99/bomber! That's unheard of here in northern VA. And a 4 pack of Duvel for $11. Seriously!?!? I feel like I'm robbing the place.
All in all, you shouldn't be beer hunting in Santa Fe without stopping by the "Barn." Although some places may be cleaner, what are you really there for---that's right. The Beer!

This place touts the best beer selection in Santa Fe on the moniker outside the store. This place was busy when I went in but he majority of people were buy cheap cases of beer and some were buying BMC by the singles.
The place had kind of an old gas station feel to it, a bit dirty and long low shelves of beer with years of beer posters stuck to the windows, and a bit faded. The craft beer was in the back and there were several long shelves of warm beer with a long cooler wall of cold beer mostly BMC. They had three 3-L Arrogent Bastard bottles with the padlocks on the shelf, and many other stone beers along with Oskar cans, and some other popular big craft beer names. They didn't have any one-off beers except for the Santa Fe Brewing Co limited edition bottles.
They had a small cooler up front of 12 oz. singles but most of those were BMC but I found a few intersting beers that I didn't want to buy a whole 6-pack.
I would stop back in for some good session beers or to see if Santa Fe has any new limited release bottles if I were in the neighbor hood again.

This is the only liquor store in Santa Fe I've been in, so I don't have much to compare it to. That being said - this place was an absolute mess. For some reason there was a large area in the center of the store with some sparse shelves, and a broken down washing machine?! On the shelves I found several beers I'm not familiar with, but many of the bottles were dusty, and the organization was once again, a mess. Beers were scattered with no obvious organization, often in multiple places. The staff didn't seem to care if I was there or not, and continued their conversation with each other the entire time the rang me up, without ever saying a word to me. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

This place has, easily, the most extensive selection of beer in Santa Fe. Has a large cooler section and an even larger area with room temperature beers. One knock to this place is that some of these bottles out in the open tend to have some dust on them and I saw some beers that were over a year old. Awesome selection with tons of stuff from Kona, Stone, Rogue, Ska, Cantillon, De Ranke, Boon, Odell, Santa Fe Brewing Co., and many others. I didn't get an impression of the staff one way or the other, really. I definitely recommend this place, but just keep an eye out for bottled on dates, etc..
