On the website this beer is labeled as a bitter but the brewpub renamed it more accordingly to J's Hoppy Ale. (APA)
Slight amber color with a fading head. Amazing hops smell and full body bitter hops going down. Hops ,of course, dominate the pallet with very little room for other flavors and characteristics to shine through.
If you are looking for hoppy this is your beer.

Served in a pint glass with little or no head. I needed to drink a little and swish vigorously to produce any and provide some aroma. no lace to speak of. The color of the beer is a light amber.
The smell was pretty typical of an APA... some grassy hops and a caramel sweetness.
Taste: Middle of the road APA... nothing outstanding.... nothing bad... just normal. Grassy hops followed by some malty sweetness... heavier on the hops.
MF: Too thin... not as robust as my favorite APA's. Maybe a bit too highly carbonated.
Drinkability: Middle of the road...

Nearly aromaless even with my nose way down in the glass. Yellow boddy with a mostly diminshing white head. Very hoppy for a "bitter" and little else flavorwise except some toned down grain flavors. So it's not really bitter other than the fact that bitter is the only real flavor taking place...but that's not what a Bitter is and I'm quite sure the brewer knows that. Back tot he beer. Has a nice feel to it just not a whole lot of flavor other than the hops and a tinge of grainy malt.

This beer, despite its name, is much more like an APA than an English Bitter, which is how I classified it.
It is light amber in color with a foamy head. The color is a little light, for me. It has a very light smell of malt and hops.
This is a bitter beer, not like a British Bitter. It is much more like an American Pale Ale. A lot of hops must be used in this beer. It has a massive hop aftertaste.
The body is fine, with enough substance I would expect.
The drinkability is good, assuming you like bitter beers.
