Poured on-tap at the Pump Station, the beer was served in a shaker pint. Goldenrod coloring with a sparse, thin, filmy white surface coating of head. Nose of subtle honey and toast. Flavors are sweet and roasty, with a grainy backbone and honey sweet highlight. Aftertaste of the grain bill once again. Smooth bodied, light, with a clean finish.

A-Clear yellow, no carbonation

S-I had a hard time picking out any flavors but some grain flavors are present.

T-Some lemon flavors, not much bitterness but it is there also has some wheat in it as well.

M-Also rather light

D-Rather drinkable, easily sessionable. There are better out there but nothing in the beer seems like it could offend anyone.

Draft at the brewpub. Another kolsch that does not make the grade. Undrinkable, despite use of amarillo and magnum hops. Pale yellow. Passable aroma. Watery, lagerish, off bitterness. More of a mild bitter.A waste even at Happy Hour prices. A little sweetness. Please drop this.

The Pump Station is my local brewpub. They make a fine range of extremely drinkable and tasty beers.

Among the monster double, triple and imperial hop bombs of today, a beer like this could be perceived as pedestrian.

To me within style is what is absolutely critical. Admittedly, I have never been to the Cologne region of Germany, but there is little about the subtle soft malt profile of this clean ale and the light fruity/spice notes of the hopping that does not read dead on to style.

This beer is brewed with incredible consistency and is a perfect aperitif to an evening of food and drink, or drinks well with the many sandwiches on the food menu at the Pump Station.

Soft, slightly sweet, smooth and mellow bitterness with a touch of hops, a perfect pint.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a clean cereally grain with a smattering of floral hop.

The taste consisted of a husky grain with a balancing hop.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness.

Overall a vert drinkable kolsch - simple by design.

Had on tap at C.H. Evans brewpub in Albany. I was really inmpressed, this reminded me strongly of Reissdorf Kolsch, an authentic version from Koln. The aroma was malty and slightly funky, very subdued. The flavor was also diminishy, very subtle as is appropriate. A little more hops in the flavor than promised by the aroma.

Nice Kolsch from New York.

A dim gold with a small white head. The scents are very malty and grainy. The taste is very sweet, and doughy with an extreme lack of hops and german flavors for the style. Mouthfeel is light, and this brew is just extremely clean and easy going down. Sure, it is a bit bland and boring, but never-the-less, it is quite the drinker.

Cold & refreshing. Nice color, barely an aroma. Again not a flavorful beer - but sure wouldn't be bad after a hot day boating on the Hudson.
