A: dark copper color, head very strong but at the expense of carbonation
S: cider and vinegar
T: oak on front, hint of flander, sour flavors strong, nor much hops, lingering bitterness

2012
A: lots of bubbly carbonation atop a orange/ruby body. nice retention.

S: tart, dark fruits, horse banket, funk.

T: starts with a tart fruity finish. strawberries. very dry finish. slightly oak.

M: very highly carbonated. too much for my liking.

O: pretty good. I couldnt get through a bottle by myself due to the high carbonation. but tastes good. funky/horse blanket becomes more obvious as it warms.

2013. Pours a slightly hazy copper with huge fluffy cream colored head, patchy lace down the glass. Smell: mildly sweet and fruity - notes of date and ripe plum, hay, pepper, herbal notes. Taste: tart peach, herbal, sweet fruit.. pear, white grape, and plum; then a grainy hit, and finishing with grape skin. Finish is dry but slightly gritty. Really tasty.

the cork says this beer is from 2013

A: poured into a tulip to a nice deep golden brown topped by a monstrous dense and rocky off white head with excellent staying power and lacing
S: smells of spicy yeast, lactic sourness and a bit of barnyard
T: taste is spicy yeast, sourness, barnyard and funk swallow is bready malt, slight fruitiness, spice, funk and sourness
M: this beer is lighter on the palate with very active carbonation and a slightly drying finish
O: A little heavy on the carbonation mutes a lot of the flavors. the cork almost shot off when I removed the cage. After shaking out the carbonation it's a very good beer and the flavors play very well together.

From a 750 ml bottle into a tulip. If there was a date somewhere on the bottle, I missed it.

A-An aggressive pour produces a huge, towering head of tan foam, like three-plus fingers. The retention is pretty good, too, with a thick cap hanging around for a long time as I drink. No lacing. The beer is very murky and honey in color. I can see some carbonation through the murk.

S-The aroma is fruity and cider-like at first, but it opens up after a minute in the glass to reveal a nice mixture of plum, golden raisin, spice, and brown sugar aromas like you would get it a Belgian dubbel. There are also, however, some lighter flavors, like sugary bread dough and Belgian yeast that suggest a saison or Belgian blonde.

T-The taste tracks the smell. I detect some dough and yeast up front with a touch of earthy, musty funk. The finish is sweeter and more fruit forward with plum, golden raisin, pepper, red apple, and a bit of alcohol burn on the palate.

M-The feel is medium in body with a slightly crisp carbonation that is higher than average in volume.

O-This is a pretty interesting beer. Hybrids like this one don't always work out, but I found myself enjoying this blend of dubbel and saison. I tasted more dubbel flavors here, but the feel tended towards the saison side of things. All in all, this was a pleasant first beer from Saint Somewhere and I am looking forward to trying more.

750 ml, cork dated 2007, poured into a tulip

A- A cloudy deep red with a big four finger off white head.

S- Sour, some barnyard funk, brett, some dark fruits, some sweet malts.

T- Sour dark fruits, somewhat funky, earthy finish, brett, hints of peppercorns. Reminds me of a Jolly Pumpkin beer.

M- Smooth, medium body.

O- I haven't tried this fresh, but I feel this has aged nicely. Enjoyable, looking forward to trying other beers from Saint Somewhere.

A: The beer is rather hazy amber in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a two finger high off white head that gradually died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of sourness are present in the nose along with hints of sweet malts.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and is slightly sour and has faint bits of dark fruits in the flavors. Neither sweetness nor spices are perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a faint amount of tartness along with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be rather interesting, as it tasted like a hybrid between an American Wild Ale, a Dubbel, and a Saison/Farmhouse Ale—you definitely get some characteristics of each of these three styles of beer. While you don't get much of the saison in the smell or taste, it drinks like one and goes down easily.

Looks very similar to the other saison from Saint Somewhere I had last night. Actually smells like it too. Anyway, it's a medium brown color, murky/hazy, rich looking. The head really does resemble their Saison Athene, extremely thick, retains for a crazy long time, with a dirty yellow color. This head produces a bit more lace than the other.

Very tart scent with some white pepper. This brewer loves spices. White grape and pear like other Belgian saisons. You can almost smell the funky you're likely getting ready to taste.

You never know what you're going to get with funky wild yeast and I'm not sure this is what they're going for. There's plenty of fruitiness, but it's all of the tart or sour variety. Reminds me of a kriek, with its vinegar. I don't really care for that style so this takes a hit because of that. The white pepper and the yeast give it a white wine or champagne-like taste. Again, it's not something I prefer. So, while I wouldn't consider it bad, I'll go with just okay.

The mouthfeel doesn't work for me either. High carbonation gives it an unwelcome bite. The vinegar feel does my palate no favors, as once it hits the sides of my palate, they're ruined for a while. There's a warming feeling in the swallow either from the alcohol or the white pepper, not sure which. It's exceptionally tart and sourish.

Same as their saison I had last night, I don't care for it. I do enjoy saisons and usually the funkier the better, but this has too many qualities I associate with a kriek for me to really enjoy.

one of the more interesting saisons I've ever had. its a copper colored beer, and once its in the glass, it has a big puffy white head light as air, huge bubbles bursting and reforming like mad, very alive look to it. the cork blew off as soon as the cage was loosened, and i almost lost an eye, it gushed right up, but i had a glass ready. tickles my nose as i sniff it, soda level carbonation, lots of funk, not bretty, but beyond the conventional saison yeasts we always see. some native florida stuff here from what i understand. brassy mineral smell, with dry red grains, maybe some rye, or at least the yeast has that white pepper spice to it. a musty wood aroma too, composty, don't know where that comes from, but its new to me and i like it. the flavor is equally dynamic, with the yeast being the prime flavor agent but the mouthfeel being impossible to overlook. it has so much carbonation, huge bubbles, that as soon as its in my mouth, it basically dissipates. theres not much to swallow because the bubbles make it disappear, its insane. the only other beer to ever do that for me was the architecture brew from tool. i love that liveliness of feel, and its so well suited to the richer malt of this beer. top tier stuff.
