Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: The beer itself has to look: A murky, hazy yellow beer. The issue here is the borderline non-existent head. There's a tiny bit of glass lacing.

Smell: You don't pick up much. Sweet citrus fruit, coriander.

Taste: This is a workman's wit for sure. Pretty standard, but there's nothing wrong with that for the price. The grapefruit adds a nice touch.

Mouthfeel: Refreshing and crisp. Ample carbonation and a wet taste. Doesn't leave much aftertaste and isn't too sticky.

This is a pretty standard wit, and I don't mind that. Ever so slightly above average, and I don't mean that as laudatory.

Not at all what I expected. I am normally a fan of Philly-area brews, but this was truly outside the pale. Pours a cloudy yellow color, minimum head and retention. The taste was way too sour, and had none of the banana and clove softness normally associated with witbiers. Overall, a terrible brew that does the brewery a disservice.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass

A- amber yellow that is almost opaque due to haziness from yeast. Nice, but quickly dissipating head of creamy white foam

S - Very citrusy from the grapefruit peel used in brewing. Faint breadiness from the wheat. The chamomile is also very present in the nose, combining with the natural floral aroma produced by the yeast. Must be my penchant for citrusy hops in IPAs, but grapefruit is my favorite aroma in a beer and although it is out of its style to have such an intense citrus bouquet, I like it

T- A little bit acidic at first followed by the flavor of lemon that lingers through the finish. Wheat and a hint of clove is present in the aftertaste by when the fruit subsides. Not as much complexity or juicy fruit or banana as I like in a Belgian witbier. The citrus flavor dominates

M- Lightly carbonated, would've liked a little more. Clean on the tongue.

D- A good beer for the summertime due to the refreshing color, smell, citrusy taste and low alcohol of hits beer.

Would be a nice match to grilled chicken or shrimp, pasta in white sauce, artichokes or any food that has bright flavors and good use of acidity.

Pours into my hop tulip glass from Sierra Nevada with a pale clouded grapefruit juice tone to it orange golden . Bright white head forms scattered fine speckled lacing as it dwindles. Aroma gives off a nice grapefruit and cloudy chamomile spiciness with a sharp wheat base. Flavor is quite bitter for a wit, I believe this is due to the grapefruit peel additions and the spicy chamomile that I describe as marshmallow tea. Mouthfeel is medium to lighter bodied with a nice sturdy carbonation base, cleans the palate well. Drinkability is awesome, a really unique on an overdone style another reason to support an awesome PA brewery.

pale yellow...cloudy body...thick white with plenty of lacing on the glass

citrus and banana in the nose

chamomile and peppery spices in the finish

a little watery and light bodied with minimal carbonation

i could drink a bunch of these in one session but the peppery finish tends to make me look for another option if available

better attempts at the style out there but i was happy to try it

12oz bottle picked up at Philadelphia Brewing Co. 4.2% abv, 20 IBU's
Poured beautiful hazy orangey straw color with large puffy white head that rose above the glass. Wheat and yeast aroma. Taste is more citrus that usual, i get some orange and grapefruit. Light mouth feel. Above average drinkability for this style of beer. All in all a very strong unfiltered wit.

Pours a foamy white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is wheat/grain, perfumy spice, musty. Has some farmhouse traits. Taste is cardboard/burnt toast dominates the herbal/tannins. Not exactly the greatest witbier in the world, but certainly not the worst. I felt the need to try it because I was staying in Philadelphia.

Picked up a single from the Foodery in Northern Liberties.

This is an interesting wit, out of the ordinary. At first it seemed like a Widmer hefe version of a wit in that the yeast was very clean, leaving only a little spice with plain wheat and barley malt. However, as it warmed subtle aromas of perfumed fruit and vanilla began to develop while I also notice an increasingly complex aftertaste of bitter, dry, citrus rind. This is a beer offering a lot of subtle flavors. Definitely worth a try, it can't be easy to make something new in the wit category.

I enjoy Walt Wit because I enjoy Belgians. Very smooth beer.

A. Nice cloudy golden hue. Small white head with little lacing.

S. Smell is very nice. Citrusy but not too much that it smells fruity. The yeast plays a key role as well following the citrus.

T. Taste is awesome. Typical Belgian style with citrus blended with yeast. Neither are too over powering and compliment each other nicely in this beer.

M. Mouthfeel is not too thick but also not watery. There is a definite body to it. On e sipped, not much carbonation either.

O. Overall I like the beer and would easily drink it again. Also I would recommend this beer to others looking for an alternative in the Belgian style department.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

A- Neon and vibrant golden yellow color. Decent little head here. Got some nice lacing going on here. Cool lookin witbier.

S- Spicy and clean with some floral notes. Grassy and herbally.

T- Super citrusy. Most notable lemon. I enjoyed how this beer did not have a lot of sour notes, very sweet but tasty. Corriander and some pineapple. Wheaty but lacked a lot of zest that I enjoy in witbiers.

M- Paper thin beer here which made it incredibly easy to drink, almost too easy. This one went down pretty fast, but it lacked a lot of taste and complexity.

D- Not bad but I expected more. Worth a try. With some tweaking this beer could be decent in the future.

A - The appearance is attractive hazy wheaty semi opaque. Decent lacing.

S - Smell is solid Wit herbs phenolics nice.

T - The taste however is weak and mostly grainy tasting. That graininess obscures any real Wit flavor suggested by the nose. Some tartness come through in the finish.

M - There is little layeredness in the mouthfeel that you would expect from a Wit.

D - The drinkability is good because, well there isn't much there. A very simple beer.
