Poured a lusterous black body with a thin off-white head. Aroma was of chocolate, a lot of coffee, lactose, caramel, sweet malt, and even some piney hops at the end. Flavor however was somewhat less complex. It tasted of coffee beans, some dark chocolate, slightly licorice, and piney hops at the end. However a nutty wood and coffee feel lingered on the tongue afterwards. It was kind of thin for such a dark beer and not very complex either. Rather like a cold carbonated coffee that was slightly hoppy.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
body black & brown, but head fizzles away quite quickly giving a flat appearance. no lacing.
nice coffee aroma from this one, not much else coming through.
Well as a coffee, this one tastes pretty good. The stout background seems lacking somehow, but on taste alone, it's a good taste.
body is just below medium, finish is coffee.
overall, the parts are a bit all over the place, but the total is a worthwhile drink.

sampling a cellar temp 12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. The beer pours a dark coffee hue with minimal beige head foaming up about 1 cm and fading to a sturdy edge layer. The aroma is rich coffee notes and roasted malt a little sweetness but in general scent is like a fresh brewed cup of java with some brown sugar added.
First sip reveals an average body with fine fizzy carbonation that rolls across my palate. texture is smooth and leaves a bit of a sweet coating on my mouth.
Flavor is rich and malt with a bit of bakers chocolate and then dry roast coffee. No hops nor ABV on this sipping of the beer. This is a straightforward and simple beer but it is enjoyable for what it is. Enjoyable and well made especially if you like a mug of Joe in the AM.

Pours a dark brown with ruby edges and a half finger of head. There are rich coffee notes in the nose. The coffee notes are also present in the flavor profile but they considerably drop off in potency in relation to the nose. The body is thin and the finish is a touch bitter from both the roast and the hops.
