Another beer I picked up at State Line recently

Light yellow pour with a thin white head, a little thicker than that of the Hell, with good retention. Not much lacing is present

Surprisingly subdued for a German pils, this is more like a Czech pils. Delicate earthy hops with a mild dusty aroma. Definitely grainy, there's a husky character to this beer. Malt isn't particularly prominent apart from this characteristic.

Opens a little sweet, like unfermented pilsner wort with some sugar, sweet bready malt and relatively low hop character. In fact, I'm going to have to stretch my imagination to project the presence of any hops, and I'll write that off as possible age. Hop flavor is mostly absent, though there is a touch of earthy bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but not particularly good either.

Light in body with medium-high carbonation, this beer is solid but for the distressing lack of bitterness for which I shall have to penalize it. The body, though is great - while light, it manages to delicately coat the palate. Quite drinkable, I'd love to try it fresher. This really strikes me as a stale example of a Helles than it does of a pils.

Clean, Biting, Refreshing

Steeped in tradition and very true to style, crisp dryness is met by a well built malt foundation. Mild biscuity tone lens more of a bready flavor, clean from start to finish. No worries knocking this one back. Sufficient hop bitterness but we hoped for a bit more flavor to unfold. Regardless, great drinking all around.

Initially the pour looks cloudy but clears quickly to a pale straw-yellow with a white half finger head that lasts most of the drink.

Aromas are light, fresh, and fruity with just a hint of lager yeast.

Flavor is very clean and light. Bready yeast, lightly fruity, a bit of sweetness from the pale malts and just a hint of hops at the end.

Mouthfeel is tingly from the tiny carbonation and aftertaste is dry and refreshing.

Wonderful summer beer.

A - Dull grey/brown with absolutely no head and very little lace. Thick and coudy.

S - Slightly fruity and very doughy. Fruitcake, banana bread. Yeasty.

T - Donuts and poundcake. Finishes fairly dry and peppery.

M - Light bodied and somewhat creamy at first, moves towards dry at the finish.

Not bad at all. Yeast bomb.

Pours a clear golden straw color with a decent head.

Sweet malt aromas abound in this brew with just a hint of hop aromas in the back.

The flavor is dominated by a sweet biscuit flavor with hints of grassy hops and finishes with a somewhat dryness.

This is a quality brew and I'm quite surprised I was able to find it at my local International food store.

Pours a pale golden, with a small, but lazy white head that turns to a thin veneer quickly. I look at the notes above, and am surpised at the ABV for a pils. But, hey, why not?

Aroma is very light, almost non-existent, but a light hoppiness that is very familiar from my recent German deluge of beer. OK, but not anything outrageous.

Flavor is a nice malt, with a slightly stronger than it should be hops profile in the first sip. but as the half liter moves along, balance becomes a bit more even. The hops are a bit piney and weedy for my tastes, kind of stale in feel. It tastes fine, but just does not grab me. Lots of other German golden beers (Pilsener and otherwise) that are better. Not bad, worth a try, but don't expect a lot.

500 ml picked up at Tres Bonne Cuisine over the weekend... This a new brewery to me.. They just got them in the last week or so.. I picked up all the bottles from this brewery.. The German pils is the first that meets my shaped SA glass.

1" head dies quick.. descent lace.. the brew is crystal clear polished lite gold/straw.. Head should have stuck around for alot longer..

The nose is very nice.. very fresh smelling.. grainy pils malt with some spicy and floral hoppiness... very clean.

Great pale maltiness.. fairly crisp.. yet descent pils malt/cookie essence throughout.. with a good bitterness and distinct hop profile.. spicy.. maybe a touch too much maltiness expected for the style... but it still is a winner.

lite medium body with lighter than expected carbonation.. still remains very very drinkable.. The finish could stand to be a bit more dry.. but that is a minor flaw.. This brew tastes very fresh.. and I am very much stoked to get yet another round of new to me/new to Boise brews at Tres Bonne Cuisine..

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours light to medium golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit and bready malt, a bit of wheat, light grassy hops, slightly sweet, inviting. Flavor is semi-sweet bready malt with light biscuit, grains, hints of honey and apple. Finishes with biscuit malt and light grassy hops. Quite nice creamy medium bodied with excellent mouth feel. A classic tasting Dortmunder, nothing really stands out, but the malt flavors are great with just enough sweetness to keep it interesting. Hops are quite light in the finish and more enthusiastic hopping would make this a remarkable example of the style. Although not robust, I thoroughly enjoyed drinking this and would get it again.

Another Aktien beer picked up at Gourmet Haus Staudt. This isn't a pils at all, more of an export lager.

Brilliantly clear, Edel pours an extremely pale shade of gold. A two finger head adorns the body, leaving rings of lacing behind as the glass empties.

It smells quite malty, honey-like, bready, mildly sweet. Not much in the way of hops, this is more a showcase for German malt.

Honey-like malt flavors hit the tongue first, along with a trace of spiciness. The malt character is fairly robust, semi-sweet and bready, but firming up in the finish. There's a hint of fruitiness, a bit reminiscent of white peach. It ends on a semi-dry note, and I don't pick up much in the way of hops at all here; truly a malty beer front-to-back.

This is perfectly good, but not outstanding in any way. Not something I'd buy often.

brass gold, white head, some tatters of lace. Aroma of Faint Noble Hops. Mild cracker taste, touch of sour, clean finish. So easy to drink that it is instantly forgettable. Beer.

Hazed bronze with a decent looking bone colored head that leaves some gritty looking lace on the glass. The nose is bready and sweet with honey and mild hops. (Saaz?) hops and fresh doughy yeast with soft lemon and honey. Medium bodied with a fine mild cabonation. A tasty and heavy duty pils for sure.

Yellow golden lager, with a pure white head. Strangely the aroma reminds me of boiled beetroot, which for me isnt a bad thing, but for a beer? After i get past my past! the scent is more malty doughy. The flavour is not beetroot but a fairly robust malt accented lager almost a Helles really. Honeyish and buscuity with a thick palate. It was an OK beer and would have got an extra point or two had it not been for a slightly cloying finish

Pours a pale yellow, medium carbonation. Ivory white head is tight and leaves minimal lacing.

Pretty malty compared to most german pilseners. Malts are doughy, slightly toasted but mainly its sweet. Hops are very subdued and really don't make a presence until late in the ballgame, and they don't even qualify for a save.

Notes: Kind of boring to be perfectly honest. I love german Pilseners and its arguably my favorite style and this one is really malted and unbalanced.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a light and crisp pale malt scent that is a bit musty and dry due to the lager yeast. It slightly bitter; bearing German style hops. The taste is decent as well. It has a light and slightly sweet pale malt flavor that goes down easy and finishes bitter and musty. It's clean and refreshing with a bitter hop aftertaste as well as a slight bisquity flavor. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a fine German pilsner. It is an easy drinker. I prefer a Czech pilsner though.

Clear golden brew with a fine-grained white foam in the New Belgium snifter. White cake and honey aroma. More honey taste. Intriguing flavors that are not the usual lager taste. It's quite grainy at first sip, but then I think of banana cake. Warm and malty with a touch of honey.

Really an interesting brew with so many sweet sensations. A brief kiss of hops and a tangy finish, but not much actual bitterness. Dated 02/10/15. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Whidbey Beer Works in Oak Harbor, Washington.

330 ml. bottle. Golden colour, with a big creamy head that leaves a good lace. Smell of fruits, specially banana, cloves. Palate is sweet, malty. Light body. Taste of ripened fruits, banana and cloves. Sweet finish.

Presentation: 1 Pint 0,9 fl.oz. (500ml) thin, slender brown glass bottle. Has a neck, obverse and reverse labels, so often used by the Germans. The main label has a picturesque green forested Germanic valley and a red border. Has an advertised established date of 1308 and stated conformance to the Reinheitsgebot of 1516 on the main label. Under the words, “Aktien-Brauerei Kaufbeuren”, in Germanic font, the beer is listed as simply “Premium Edel”.

Appearance: Pale straw color with golden hints that has a lively, smooth looking, velvety white frothy head. Excellent inherent carbonation and some light lacing.

Nose: Mostly hops mixed with a biscuit sweetness and a freshly baked bread aroma. A hint of some sweet apples and pears.

Taste: Pilsner malts and light floral hops with a slightly sweet aspect. Starts with light biscuit malts, then Pilsner malts take over before a sweetness with some grassy hops rise, that eventually merge with the sweetness once again, to form a buttery bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Average, like the other beers from this Brewery.

Drinkability: Easily drinkable. Crisp and refreshing, if a little sweet in the finish.

Overall: Similar to other beers that I have had from this Brewery, which I find, is light in character, yet extremely drinkable. This is no mold-breaking beer – but it is worth a try.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: golden hue with no haze and a light effervescence. Head poured a finger of frothy white foam which dissipated leaving a thin lace on the glass. Not too bad.

Smell: sweet with a little dank maltiness; appropriate for the style, but really quite light. The volume on this could really stand to be turned up a little.

Taste: sweet, like the aroma, but with an appropriate volume of flavor. Not a whole lot of character, just kind of sweet and malty. Bitterness is rather low, though there is a hint of noble hop as well.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a pretty decent creaminess.

Overall: decent, but a bit on the sweet side, even for a Dortmunder.

Pours a clouded straw gold with a small white head. Nose is light, floral, and with a touch of lemon rind. Flavor is light and refreshing. Slight wheat-y edge with a touch of light sweetness and a slightly present lemon citrus edge. Feel is good. Light on the mouth and a typical carbonation putting tiny bubbles all over your tongue. Definitely drinkable. So light and refreshing, it'd be great on a hot summer day (as opposed to a blithering cold one which I am tasting it on). Worth a try!

Pours amber, clear with a whte head and good retention. Drops to a thick film.
Smell is malt, honey and hops.
Taste is more of the same, malt, honey & hops with a slight alcohol bloom. Medium bodied with a light effervescence, a decent beer but nothig special for me.
