This is a great beer bar right in downtown Portland.

When my friends and I visited--late on a Monday night--the place had a good crowd of folks still there. It has an urban-chic feel, but there are board games that belie the hipper-than-thou feel that one might accuse this place of having. And, anyway...the beer is great! They've got twenty rotating taps, and the emphasis is on Northwest brews. Amongst others, they had Walking Man Saison du Ped, HUB Seven Grain Stout, and taps from Cascade Lakes, Caldera, Laurelwood, Avery, Stone, Hale's, and Double Mountain.

The service was friendly, even though the bartender told us that he had been hoping to close early on a Monday night.

This is a great place for a pint or two--a high-priority visit for out of town beer tourists.

Where else can you get $3.50 12-oz pours of Notorious?

Bailey's offers cheap prices, a high-tech tap list that shows how much is remaining in each keg, a PNW-focused tap selection, and a relaxed atmosphere.

I travel to Portland for business very often, and I always spend at least one night at Bailey's. The true rotating taps, focus on the unusual and nano brews, and knowledgeable staff make it a great place to be. It does get crowded later in the week, so be fore-warned. I also recommend getting dinner from Santeria's brought over.

Visiting Portland from San francisco I stopped by Bailey's on an early spring week-night. I was initially really excited for this place and intrigued by the electronic menu. The menu lists the beers, ABV, style of glass poured, and maybe how much beer was left in the keg? The selection is mainly awesome beers from around Oregon, the definition of a cool local spot to me serves top local beers, so this hits the mark. The service was the only problem, I maybe got unlucky but a specific bartender was a rude wanna-be hipster who poured me the wrong beer on accident and then refused to replace it with the right one. I'll be back.
