This place looks a lot like a trendy coffee shop but the beer selection is all business. A bunch of comfortable couches make for a nice place to tip some jars. The beer list is big and very well considered with hard to find local beers. I talked to the owner and he said some of the beers were to be found nowhere else in Portland. The food looked pretty decent but this really is a beer joint that has the hip cool interior that attracts the urban professionals. Compare this to the smoky dark interior of the Tugboat next door and I will take this anyday

Visiting Portland from San francisco I stopped by Bailey's on an early spring week-night. I was initially really excited for this place and intrigued by the electronic menu. The menu lists the beers, ABV, style of glass poured, and maybe how much beer was left in the keg? The selection is mainly awesome beers from around Oregon, the definition of a cool local spot to me serves top local beers, so this hits the mark. The service was the only problem, I maybe got unlucky but a specific bartender was a rude wanna-be hipster who poured me the wrong beer on accident and then refused to replace it with the right one. I'll be back.
