12 ounce can - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Light yellow-hued body, lightly hazed, it barely manages to scare up a half-inch, loose, white head that sputters out in a flash.

Smell: Dried herb, lemon peel with an edge of sweetness to it, and the perfunctory pils.

Taste: Pils malts, faintly bready, a bit of cereal sweetness and a pop of citrusy lemon juice. Light Continental hop character, scantly grassy with a relatively low bitterness. Predominately lemony on the backhalf and into the near-quite-crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Just a smidge over medium carbonation.

Overall: Merely satisfactory; it's not stellar, but fine and refreshing.

This is a regular purchase for me in the summer. Good in the can, better from the growler where available, and best from the tap. Like other kolsch beers, the flavor is best right away. Don't leave it sitting out once open -- drink it fresh.

I don't notice a distinctive smell. Nice golden color. Easy to drink. Refreshing.

A: Poured from a bottle to a kolsch glass. Had a yellow color and a clear consistency. There was a half inch of creamy head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing.

S: A somewhat muted aroma of malt and citrus. Not a lot going on here.

T: Tasted of malt, a little citrus (lemon), and a touch of hops in the finish. The flavor here is much too thin and watery to be effective.

M: A fair amount of carbonation with a surprisingly vibrant, prickly finish. Light-bodied.

O: A pretty forgettable beer. Too average to really succeed.

A - Clear, dark straw yellow color with lots of carbonation stuck to the sides of the glass that eventually depart for the top. Hardly any head and lacing on this one.

S - Refreshing, has sort of an american macro lager aroma to it but it is strong with light grain, a nice floral/honey smell as well.

T - Not too strong on the flavor but there is some floral hop taste and a lemongrass-like flavor as well. The grains are light and sweet and zero bittering agents.

M - Light body, very nice carbonation, and a quick fading aftertaste. Very easy to sip and non-complex so it's easy to drink.

O - Nothing to write home about but it does make for a great summer, refreshing beer. Maybe not exactly like a traditional German Kolsch but for a local brewery it is very good in its own right.
