Traveled to Horseheads with naproxen this past weekend and picked up this gem. We sampled it in the tasting room and knew we were taking it home.

22 oz. bomber poured into a nonic.

Pours a clear pale golden hue with a one finger off-white head that falls to a thin layer of foam. Some random chunks of lace cling to the sides of the glass. Aroma is herby dank with a light citrus undertone. Earthy hops with a touch of biscuits and malts in the nose as well. Taste starts with sweet grass and some sticky pine. Midway the malt bill comes forward with some caramel sweetness. The finish is pretty fucking bitter and forward with hops. Grapefruit rinds, straight up herb, and dirty earth in the aftertaste...awesome. Big chewy mouthfeel with a very mild carbonation. To me, the body is spot on for such a beefy IPA. I like this beer a lot, but I liked it ever more on tap. If you like simcoe hops, you'll definitely appreciate this beer. I really hope Bob gets this beer at J Ryan's here in Syracuse...along side some Nugget Nectar, sticky icky...OOOWWWEEE!!!

Served in a pint glass.

Appearance: Clear golden amber, light bubbles on the body. Head is straight white maybe 1/4" off the body.

Smell: very light flowery scent, comes off a little too mellow for an IPA.

Taste: Not complex but definitely not a starter IPA. Has strong bitter grapefruit notes.

Mouth: Medium and somewhat sticky, citrus skin after-taste sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Overall: Not a bad beer at all, took it by chance here at the Taproom here in NYC. More of a pleasant afternoon brew or maybe even better summer beer. Salud.

Serving type: on-tap

A: The beer is slightly hazy amber orange in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high light beige colored head that gradually died down, leaving patches of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—oranges seem to stand out in particular—along with hints of floral hops and pine resin.
T: Like the smell, the taste starts off with flavors of citrusy hops but it quickly transitions to flavors of piney hops that persist and linger through the finish, although there are also some hints of tropical fruits that peek through near the end. A moderate amount of bitterness is perceptible along with slight hints of caramel malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The pine resin hops in the finish lend some bite to the mouthfeel.
O: This beer hides its alcohol rather well and isn't overly bitter, which makes it rather easy to drink considering the heavy dose of hops. I enjoyed the blend of citrusy and piney hops in the taste.

Poured a hazy burnt orange hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured am earthy caramel and piney hop.

The taste offered toasted malts, burnt sugar and a lingering piney hop spice.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

Overall a tasty and well balanced transitional beer.
