A: Dark orange / brick in color, the head, off-white in color, is huge and creamy, it lasts quite long.
S: The nose is quite heavy, reminding a bit of a barleywine, but rich, with caramel malts, chocolate, a bit boozy, some dark fruits behind.
T: Taste is fruiter than expected from the nose, still with an impressive malty backbone, but more fruity (citruses, red fruits, and some dark fruits on the finish). It does however not lack of complexity.
M: Mouthfeel is quite creamy, a bit light but it's a very refreshing beer for the style, pretty much drinkable.
O: A nice beer, it is interesting how the palate differs from the nose, offering something refreshing and easily drinkable for the style.

Pours dark brown with a large lasting head.
Nose shows golden syrup, booze, fruitcake, figs, brown sugar and cognac. Lovely.
Similarly rich flavours. More booze though, a little hot. Loads of golden syrup, bordering on a bit too sweet.
Lovely creamy carbonation and rich body.

A: pours like a dark red ale with little lacing and head. No visible carbonation and 25% clarity.
S: strong chocolate presence, toast, cherry
T: Comes out the gates with an ABV you can taste. Sweet chocolate again that turns to some grains and finishing with some mile tart berries.
M: Medium-heavy with little carbonation
O: An interesting beer that is worth a try but nothing I could drink too much of. Stronger chocolate presence than I expected.

Serving Type: 22 ounce bomber poured into a tulip stem glass.

Appearance: Looks nice in the glass, dark brown with a creamy head with lots of tiny bubbles. The head dissipated fairly quickly, some lacing on the glass. Looks great in the glass.

Smell: Getting some toffee, vanilla aromas upfront, then the malts on the backend. The is the strongest aroma that I have smelled in an organic beer. I am getting some bourbon or rum smell up front as well, sweet smell that fades into a malt character. This is the first Old Ale that I have tried and I am not quite sure how to describe the sweetness, toffee, vanilla, rum, bourbon, it all smells there.

Taste: Sweet taste upfront similar to the smell, then some bitterness blending into a malt flavor, nice flavor. This is a nice sweet maltiness flavor in the beer, great taste, getting some bitterness but not overwhelming bitterness. I am surprised, this sat in my refrigerator for about 3 months before I tried it.

Mouthfeel: Nice creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation.

Overall: Admittedly, I am surprised, I have had several Eel River brews, Raven's Eye is my favorite, this is second. I am going to pick up at least another bottle to age. This is a beer that is well balanced, the sweetness though prevalent does not overwhelm the malt and bitterness.

Appearance: No lacing, a clear cranberry juice in color. Head retention is good with a cloudy formed khaki head.

Nose: Burnt carmel, minimal dark candied fruit, some faint hops at the end.

Taste: Hot sake and carmel. Cheap vodka on the tongue, with a malt foundation.

Color- cloudy red caramel. Full, think head tinted almond.

Aroma- caramel, grapefruit hops, and ocean air.

Taste- a rich hoppy complex brew. Starts like a rich, strong, and dry Belgian ale, moving into a cake and hops middle (imagine eating coffee cake and drinking an imperial IPA) finishing with a tame dry hoppiness leaving a clean hoppy aftertaste.

Poured from bomber (650 ml bottle) into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass).
